Is there any scenario that makes trading MT13 enticing?

Semi realistically speaking. Yes I understand Michael Thomas' value to this team so spare me any speech. This is just a discussion topic.

Would the NY Jets dangling the 3rd pick of the draft and us not having to pay 19-20 mill a year to MT force you to give some thought about it?

Carry on your hypothetical, who do we pick at 3? I can tell you, whoever you are thinking is not better than MT13.....

Trade Thomas and our best receiving threat becomes 33 year old Ted Ginn. Doing that to Brees would ensure this would be his last year as a Saint.

It has to be an unprecedented move to let an elite WR walk before offering a 2nd contract... especially since WR is such an important position in today's passing NFL.

3 pick carries substantial value, can parlay into other picks etc. There are very capable assets that can be drafted with the 3 pick along with the versatility of having the extra cap space of not paying a WR premier money.

I’d trade him and TLL to the Bengals for A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, John Ross and C.J. Uzomah.

But that’s mostly for cap relief.

Mahomes, kelce, and a decade's worth of firsts. That's about it. Lol

You mean like when we traded Brandin Cooks the year before his rookie deal was expiring

Pats send 32 and 103
Saints send 118

Cooks was expendable bc you had Thomas. If trequan had shown more, you could maybe float it. As it stands now, you’d have to get a WR back if you dealt Thomas. They won’t do it with this being the end for Brees

why not, they let good players go all the time?

they traded cooks and JG, they let malcome jenkins and sproles go

MT is not the whole team, we would be not as good without him, but we could still do just fine without him, but we need to get serious value for him to be traded since he will be missed.

i would think at minimum 2 high draft picks and possibly a depth player of need for us would be a reasonable trade

I dont believe with us putting Brees contract money on a credit card is something the saints are doing because we are not trying to win now.

A realistic scenario? No.

Drew’s successor will benefit greatly from Thomas’ reliability. Pay the man and continue to build this team through the draft.

Kamara and Thomas are 2 guys I hope we don't part ways with anytime soon. Or ever.
