Williams has one more year on his 4 year rookie contract.

Von Bell is an UFA this year.

One of the NFL's top ranked safeties. He will get paid like it. But, continue your efforts on trying to be witty and harp on that play.

Harp on that play? He shite the bed in the playoffs twice against the same team on the final play of both games. That has to be some kind of hall of shame record there.

He fails at the biggest moments. If we give this guy a top safety in the league salary, Mickey needs to have his head examined

You sure? Could've swore that was Marcus on that play.

Need to trade Kamari and Lattimore too. Lattimore is too inconsistent, lazy, and screams money player. Kamari has done shite in the playoffs since he has been here and last season even past his injury he looked like he booked it in. Get max value for both while they're young and teams are probably willing to give some nice cheddar for both. Those guys will kill the cap and have too many questions to be worth the risk. Time to look for young talent again.

He’s pretty good in zone coverage playing centerfield, but he cannot make plays in man coverage and is terribly afraid of contact.
I’m not saying I’m 100% correct on this next one, perhaps you guys can prove me wrong, but I really do not recall him coming up big when we needed a play late in games. He’s got a decent number of INTs to his credit, but I cannot recall any of them being in big moments in key situations. Unfortunately the big moments for him are allowing big pass completions and failing to make tackles. You cannot give that type of guy top 10 money for that position, imo

From PFFs Young defensive players most deserving of an early contract extension

quote:

Marcus Williams and John Johnson III have both been elite in coverage with grades of 93.5 and 90.6, respectively, since 2017. Williams is the more complete player and is also shining in run defense (88.6 grade) from the free safety position, while Johnson, who moves around more and splits between free safety and box alignments almost 50-50, hasn’t shown to be extraordinary against the run, as his middling 70.6 run-defense grade indicates.

Williams has an even higher expectation than Eddie Jackson and, most importantly, his floor lies in the 70th percentile, well above average. This stems from the fact that Williams has been more consistent than Jackson through their first three years. One of Williams’ top comparisons is Earl Thomas — this might be all the Saints need to know to make a decision on him this offseason.

The Whiff and the facemask on Kittle were horrible but he does a good job mostly.

that game with the 49ers was a real crap fest from Dennis Allen.

sure you can credit Shanahan for calling a good game on the other side but he absolutely knows the pressure points in a Dennis Allen defense.

that was what was wrong with that game.

now, the whiff was horrible vs. Vikings but his interception put us back in that game to begin with.

also the offense was a fricking no show for about half the game.

its a team game.

lol at faulting Williams for us losing that one.

They might wait until next off-season with Williams. He had a good rookie year, & a good year in 2019. 2018 wasn't nearly as good. The FO might want to see if he can be consistent before they offer him any money.

Who knows though...you might be right. I've seen stranger things.
