The Saints should be doing everything they can to stop him from wanting to leave on that plane.

Jeff Ireland is not nearly as important as what is being suggested by most on here. He'll be a void that needs replacing by life will go on.

Would be funny to see him get the Bears job and the Saints hiring Ryan Pace back into Ireland's job

I've grown fond of him. Dude isn't irreplaceable but we should do everything we can to keep him. In this very specific role he has been amazing for us. No one hits on every pick but his overall success rate is why Drew had a chance to compete for a SB every year since 2017 and why the Saints were still able to almost make the playoffs this year with Trevor Siemian at QB

This armchair GM does not agree with this move. Loomis is whats wrong with this country. Too many BOomers holding on to their high profile jobs. Clearly someone with better talent is here. Keep him here. Keep the talent in house. Its not just a coincidence our draft process changed with evauleating talent when Ireland arrived here.

I can't blame him if he takes the job.. But the Saints drafts won't be as successful..

Do y’all think he’s worth pushing out Loomis to offer him GM?
re: Ireland interview with Bears is tomorrowPosted by Chalkywhite84 on 1/13/22 at 9:16 pm to ForeverEllisHugh
Yes.
You don't even have to push loomis out.

If you say so.

Man it sucks to agree with Chad.....
But Jeff's claim to fame before he came here is in identifying Line talent. I would grade the defensive line talent evals as A+, OL talent evas as B-. I wonder who is really responsible for the DL, corner, safety evals. whoever is behind the LB, and OL evals needs assistance.

I do sincerely hope that the Saints can one day realize the error of their ways and make the necessary corrections.
I find in life that most people don't learn things about doing it a better way unless they suffer severe adverse consequences from their own stupid mistakes. Let's see whether this rule can apply to an NFL franchise.
You have an agenda. Implying that CSP and Loomis are stupid for how they run the team while interjecting your nonsense administration strategy is the height of hubris.
You are not a Saints fan. You despise CSP. I am glad none of your suggestions, machinations, and fantasies of management have no real input into the daily administration of the New Orleans Saints.

This weird structure is why the saints have been the best drafting team in the last 5 years.
And the winningest!

Ireland has built out scouting department to be 20+ deep. Hard to think he’s not responsible for the talent eval turnaround. It would I appear he and his team are on the same page

The fact that they brought in Ireland is a credit to CSP and Loomis.
It shows they are adaptable managers willing to make the changes necessary to be a winning organization.
People making these nonsense statements are unfairly characterizing the Saints as a failed and soon to be devastated organization.

All of this was easily preventable.
They aren’t doomed if he leaves, but it’s a variable that very well turn bad.
