Pretty much doom and gloom. I tried to get something from my source but he’s tight lipped.

quote:

I am very hesitant on this but will. Just talked to Coach Pete who said after I pushed on him multiple times.....

"Brees is Gone for the year. Maybe, just maybe with Brees amazing dedication to recovery, he may be back this year, but recovery from a serious injury will be slowed down by his age. That area of the hand is essential to accuracy and ball speed. If the report that is saying there are torn ligaments is accurate, it's bad news and Bridgewater is not good enough to lead us to to the playoffs."

Coach Pete said he has Insider and can likely get the full scoop on Brees in a few days. He wants to wait until then before he states an official opinion.

quote:

Also said even if Saints organization knows this, they won’t come out and say he’s gone for year due to money concerns

Last thing for the nite, how well would it serve the Saints to say there's an 80% chance Brees career is over? How much money would the Saints lose this year if that got out. How many of us would travel 100 miles to watch a Saints game with Brees gone for the season to watch Teddy? How many jerseys would get bought?

This is one of those “I told you so” threads if you’re right, but if not the thread will never get bumped and it will be forgotten about. Garbage.

So Pete Carmichael came out and admitted that Teddy isn’t good enough to lead us to the playoffs? So does that mean Taysom will start?

This is bullshite, BTW.

I mean that logic is kind of dumb, so I really don’t buy what this guy is selling

I was thinking the same thing. Once he went to the best hand specialist in the country, then asked for a second opinion .... that told me the news was he’d be done for the year. He tried to find any other avenue but it’s not happening.

Not to mention, if the Saints thought he was done for the year they would be making major moves right now including putting Drew on IR

This is so fricking stupid. If they knew he was done for the year they would IR him to use his roster spot.

I can buy that. Luckily though he will have 7.5 weeks after surgery to get right for the second half of the season.

Or the hand is the hand of an NFL quarterback, someone whose presence affects this whole franchise, fanbase, and really the whole NFC race. You don't not get a 2nd opinion

Season long issues quite possible.

8 week recovery quite possible.

There’s a 50% chance of rain one day this week or week after

Don’t put him on IR and free up a roster spot

Gotta trick people into driving 100 miles and buying jerseys!
