I’m hearing that initial diagnosis on Saints’ Eli Apple is a hyperextended knee, per source. We will see.

Not as long as something torn.

Anywhere from a week to 3 or 4 probably

This reminds me of the Porter injury in 2009. Hope it's like that and not season ending.

That would be good news considering what it could be.

You can walk off a hyper extension. I am sure it could take a week or two as well

so according to my quick google research... depending on the severity... could be anywhere from a 2-4 week injury to a season ender

Good timing at least. Hopefully nothing serious and he can miss this week and have the bye to rest up. Maybe come back for the Falcons.

His mom is very active on Twitter so she'll probably tell us first.

Unfortunately, that isn’t a “diagnosis.” It’s a mechanism of injury. It could be as minimal as a mild MCL sprain, to something as serious as torn ligaments. This isn’t enough information for anyone to really know anything definitive just yet.

Just pray it’s minimal!

I said it when the injury happened. We’ll see what they say tomorrow

Not really. Hyperextension can be a long injury if not treated properly or not giving proper rest.

Mainly because while it’s hyperextended it’s easy to make it worse

At the level of care and caution as the NFL though that won’t happen.
