IMO, Bucs and Rams are the real competition for Saints in NFC

After watching the Packers and Seahawks play this week, they are not going anywhere with those defenses. As 2012-2015 Saints fans, we know exactly what happens when you have a top 5 offense and a bottom 5 defense. Rodgers and Wilson will keep them in a lot of games they should not be in, but I wouldn't even classify their defenses as passable.

Bucs and Rams are both teams with top 10 offenses and defenses. I know we swept the Bucs, but I see those two teams as our biggest competition in the NFC. I would throw the Vikings in there, just based on how well they play us.

The Bucs really aren’t competition for the saints. The saints pass rush is too good. They are a nightmare matchup for the Bucs.

If the saints front 6 (not 7 because the saints rarely have 3 linebackers on the field) continues to play at this level then nobody in the NFC will be able to compete with them. The chiefs are the big concern for the saints. Mahomes is great at getting away from pressure and throwing on the run. The good thing the saints in the offseason was signing Malcolm Jenkins. He can give kelce some problems. Kelce is still a monster and will get his catches.

My statements above are all dependent on the saints staying fairly healthy on the d line. If that happens then I don’t see any nfc team that can hang with them.

I think the Seahawks are the worst matchup for us. Our secondary, and Lattimore particularly, struggles with speed, and the Seahawks have a ton of that at WR. We can get loads of pressure on Russ but he is elusive enough to negate that to an extent.

Beating a team 3 times is hard, so obliviously don't think a clean sweep of the Bucs is a breeze. Packers beat us, but the defense and offense have come leaps and bounds since then.

Rams are very meh. Defense would feast on Goff. He's regressed so hard the last 2 years.

I'm not saying any of the teams can't beat us (hell, the Packers already have). I am saying that based on who is positioned best to succeed in the playoffs, I still think the Bucs and Rams would be the hardest outs for us.

I don't ever want to play the Packers in the playoffs.

Let another team face them and eliminate them.

Rodgers is a very good QB.

Rodgers is very dangerous when officiating crews extend his drives.

The Packers defense is a weakness but the offense is formidable.

Rodgers has choked hard in the last few playoffs.

After watching the Vikes/Cowboys yesterday, I don’t even see Minnesota making the playoffs at this point. That team is really really bad other than Dalvin Cook.

This is it right here.

The Saints D is a bad match-up for any true pocket passer. It explains the recent success of the defense. Ryan, Brady, Bridgewater, etc.

However, mobile QBs still scare me. I'd much rather meet TB and the Rams in the playoffs than Seattle.

Yeah the teams to avoid would be the cards, Seahawks, and chiefs. Those are the three teams i think pose the biggest threat. The Seahawks o line is so bad though that really they don’t even scare me that much. I honestly believe the cards would be the toughest matchup for the saints.
