Saints have awful team expected to go 4-12. Lose by one week 1 and 3 week 2. Therefore the other teams are obviously contenders.
That being said we find ways to lose and maybe that really is a coaching thing. Our team is obviously pretty good

It's just football. It blows, but come on dude. Take it from somebody who lived the 70s and 80s. Don't let it ruin your week.

I would rather them get slaughtered to be honest

How is it poor coaching? This team has virtually is entire secondary sidelined by injury. Yet against two of the most prolific passers in the league they led or were tied within the last two minutes. In both games an outright wrong pass interference penalty was assessed on them which had a direct impact on the game. Today, a Giants receiver mad a big time play over a defensive back who played the route perfectly and just did not get up as high as the receiver. Did he jump a little early? Maybe but give credit to the receiver.
You can't blame either loss on the coaching staff.

Sean Payton went into the season presumably okay with two undrafted free agent rookie cornerbacks seeing significant playing time. And it had nothing to do with injuries. They were nickel and dime moved up both weeks to starter and nickel.
And that is literally costing us the entire season.
Ken Crawley pisses me off, but coaches should have never had him as the "next man up" in the first place.

When you are gifted three turnovers and only have 3 points to show for it, I would say that is definitely a coaching problem on offense. They lit up the Raiders on offense. Why did t that happen today?

You don't give up a touchdown on defense.
You are +3 in turnovers.
You have DREW frickING BREES.
You lose.
Les Miles could win 12 games if you spotted him that.

Lotta dropped balls today.

Blaming coaches wasn't the purpose of the thread but when you find ways to lose every close game you have to look at the coaches. We achieve the unachievable, like take a delay of game after a timeout and turn a fumble in giants territory into a block six. With the number of blocked kicks over the past 2 years I'm literally on the edge of my seat for every field goal over 30 yards.
Our team played tough today despite facing even more adversity (refs, injuries to key players). You'd think the football gods would kick one our way

I've already made the decision to go completely numb with this team before the season started.

You know, you can downvote me all you want, but there is no fricking way that Sean Payton would have Cooks, Brandon Coleman, RJ Harris, and Kyle Prater as his active WRs and just pray that Cooks doesn't get hurt. But he's okay with that on defense, with the most important position on the field when you opponents have Cooper/Crabtree/Beckham/Cruz/Shepard.
Payton doesn't care about defense and that is why we are where we are today.

They show just enough promise to make that really difficult to do.

Ah there you are. Good to see you again.
Still think this team makes 10 wins, Breaux?

Even in the 1-15 season, you had a handful of games that should have been wins. There were much worse Saints teams, I promise you that. They had the 35-7 lead at halftime against the 49ers and lost. You know you shouldn't care but they know how to suck you in.
For most of their history they've been the ugly obnoxious chick you didn't want to dump because you really cared for some God knows why reason and you know you could do better. And then you find out that they are constantly cheating on you and you STILL refuse to dump them.

If the Saints had not lost their 4 best CBs from the start of camp to injury, they are 2-0.
Posted on 9/18/16 at 4:41 pm to jdrumdog
Yeah they could obviously get to 10 wins if they had an ounce of luck health wise dikhead

No. That was 1979. They were up 35-14 halfway through the 3rd after a Kenny Bordelon pick-six. And then they lost. And they missed the playoffs and their first winning season by one game. They would have been 8-6 after that game.
Not that I remember or anything.

Which means we'll have a new HC, a good draft pick, and cap room next season.
Oh wait I forgot Benson is out of it, Loomis sucks, and CSP has the dirt on both of them. Continue melting
