I wonder if Daniel Lasco can play WR?

If Ingram, Spiller and Hightower stay healthy this pre-season that makes the backfield pretty crowded. And Murphy's kick returning abilities give him special teams value. Cadet and Vick Ballard are also in the mix. I wonder if any thought has been given to converting Lasco to WR? The little bit I've seen him play at Cal I think he could make the switch.

I didn't see anything too impressive with Murphy. Special teams or otherwise.

I'm thinking one spot for Murphy/Cadet/Lasco

thats not a transition you see in the NFL much at all, if ever.

i do think he'll be used in the passing game, tho.

Cadet was painful in 14. But he played a pretty significant role at the end of last season. And he definitely has that RB/WR versatility

Doesn't bode well for a move to WR.

This is probably one of the main reasons we drafted him as our RBs have to pass block quite often.

Agreed, although I think we should have given it a shot with Reggie.

Yeah I don't know anything about him but there were a lot of vocal posters on draft day calling him butterfingers.

If Spiller turns it up to Sproles level this season, Lasco can just be himself.

Mediocre. He had decent stats. He just didn't really do anything special. Catch the ball and go five yards. He never busted a big one on offense (that I can recall). He maybe had one or two great returns.

Mediocre suits him well.

This. I sure do miss those sweet-arse PT screens.

Murphy blows swamp arse as a returner. Courtney Roby was the winner

Truthfully, I didn't take a lot of last year to heart after it was clear we weren't doing anything. No clue why Cadet is back, let Marcus Murphy go, let Zach Strief go while we're at it and start a new.

Roby was more exciting and productive as a returner.

If anyone would get moved to WR it would be Cadet (not that it would happen). I actually like him as a receiver quite a bit but he offers very little as a runner.

Saunders.... That guy was a threat to break a return every time he touched the ball

Why would we let Strief go? He's quality depth that we gain nothing, financially or roster-wise, by cutting him. In fact, it would cost us $300k to cut him this year. Next year we'll save $2.9mil by cutting him, so I'm sure 2016 will be his last year.
