“Starting” is kind of a relative term for a TE anyway.
He doesn’t have to “start” to be on the field a bunch situationally

we've played... what... 3 TEs in games?
Trautman will see time this season
quite frankly... all 3 players we selected in the draft should be able to see playing time this season
