That kind of behavior isn't something that one just starts doing, i wonder how corrupt Nick Saban really is in getting things covered up for the thugs that he recruits.

True, but you can count on one hand the number of good players who have been bounced from the league for domestic problems This post was edited on 4/13 at 9:04 am

yep, only recently have the cared. And thats mostly because they were forced to

Ray Rice (who may have been on his way out anyway for performance)

Some guy from SF that signed with the bears a couple of years ago had issues and has not been heard of since because of DV. (Ray Mcdonald is the guy i was thinking of)

Greg Hardy may be the only legit star that got booted for being a shite person.

The thing about Foster is if he gets even half of that jail time he'll likely never return to the league.

So it's not so much even like Hardy or Rice. This is more like Vick, and Vick was a super special talent while Foster was just really good at times.

It's crazy how frequently NFL players get charged with domestic violence.

What's more depressing is that the proportion that get busted for it is likely no higher than in the general population.
People need to learn to deal with conflict better.

Yep. Everyone seems to be talking about the domestic violence charge only against Foster. In the eyes of the NFL, that alone will cause him to miss time but legally him getting caught in California with the firearm that he had in his house, is his bigger problem.

I don’t really follow teams outside the Saints so I don’t know how Foster played but if he’s any good at all he’ll be back on the field before you can blink. That’s just the way this hypocritical league is.

There is so much fail in this one sentence. Foster's not just dealing with a domestic violence charge. He also has an illegal firearm charge in California. That alone will get him some time in jail.

As far as the NFL, he gave a diluted urine sample at the combine last year which placed him in the league's substance abuse program. A few weeks prior to his charges in California, he was arrested for marijuana possession in Alabama. The league is going to violate Foster for that alone which would give him a 4 game suspension.

Now take a vicious domestic violence charge & put it together with a weapon charge. The league could suspend him indefinitely & be justified in doing so. Honestly, that's the least of his problems. Even if he pleads out to the charges in California, he will be stuck doing some time in jail. Foster will be lucky if he ever plays another down in the NFL again.

You are going to be so fricking disappointed when this is settled out of court and pled down to misdemeanors.

It's going to be hilarious watching you melt.

The only person who will melt will be you. Your boy committed his offenses in California not Alabama. He is not getting off easy in that state. He is fricked.

It must be extremely difficult to type up posts after dragging your knuckles on the ground all day.

You're already melting just from me mentioning his punishment won't be what you hope.

You're gonna go full "sky screamer" once it happens.

According to the San Jose Mercury, which cited multiple unnamed sources, the weapon found in the house was a Sig Sauer 516 SBR (short-barreled rifle).

quote:

The gunmaker says its barrels feature an A2 flash suppressor and threading that supports a number of aftermarket accessories and suppressor mounts.

For a 516 SBR to be legal in California, it would have to be modified.

California does not permit guns that can accept a detachable ammunition magazine or that possess one or more military characteristics, such as "a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon."

It apparently would also have to lose the flash suppressor, according to the Mercury News.

California has some of the toughest gun laws in America when it comes to buying the kind of rifle used in this week's mass shooting at a Florida high school.

"Certain types of firearms that used to be allowed in California are now considered to be assault weapons," Redwood City Attorney Nafiz Ahmed said.

Ahmed, a criminal defense lawyer specializing in gun cases, is also a life member of the NRA. He says any rifle with a detachable magazine and another feature like a pistol grip qualifies as an assault rifle. He adds that California's laws are "very restrictive."

Conversely, in California, it is illegal to buy or possess military-style assault rifles. The same is true for magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. No bullet buttons for faster reloading are allowed.

I'm the one melting? You have been melting for over an entire year over any critical post concerning Foster. You look like a retard. You continue to embarrass yourself in every Foster thread.

Nah.

I'm not defending Foster. I'm pointing out how butthurt you are about him.

He seriously fricked with your head with his performances against LSU.

What's even more sad is you're too dumb to realize it.

He can't hurt your poor Tigers anymore. It's okay to let your anger subside.

ETA: Looks like I'm not the only one who has noticed your obsession with Foster. This is even from this thread too:

Most important line from the first link

I'm a CA resident and gun owner. We have to know a lot more about the gun he was found with than just saying it's a Sig 516 SBR... you can still buy basic AR and other "assault rifle" platforms in CA as long as they are set up in a certain way. If he's been charged then we have to assume the rifle violates the law in some way but there are lots of different ways to violate gun laws here and the sentences vary wildly. For instance, having a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds is only a misdemeanor. He could also be charged with incorrectly storing the rifle, also a misdemeanor. The article doesn't specify so I don't know.
