Hypothetically, Could Brees waive his money owed for next season?

Although this would never happen, would it be possible for brees to say he does not want the money owed to him for next season? Would this result mean the cap hit would go away?

agreed but he has probably over 100 million in the bank and tons of franchises with jimmie johns and walk ons with more money than his kids could spend in their lifetime. That doesn't even include his endorsements.

I’m pretty sure everything in the hit is stuff pre paid but not yet accounted for due to amortization
