If this truly is brees last year, and we can get him for a cheap backup plan, I wouldn’t mind it
If jameis goes elsewhere and he’s “our guy” then nah

He could be worth a cheap contract but he’s not a true franchise QB. Can be brought in to compete but should not just be given the keys like he’s earned it. From his his injuries to seeing ghosts to his turnovers dating back to college he’s got a similar but lesser résumé to Jameis. I think he’s best served as a high end back up or go to a franchise that can afford the risk that doesn’t have the talent to win now.

We do OK getting cast off Jets. I don't think he is a particularly good QB, but he does play for the Jets, so you never know.

The team will have several games to judge Winston, and if he's deemed worthy of a true shot you have to pay him appropriately (incentive based contract w mid-level starter base).
Outside of that, I would rather see them take one of the 2nd-3rd round rookies and bring in a vet for a short-term deal (Dalton, Brissett/Rivers, Fitz...) before they go the Darnold route.
The board always thinks people will give hometown discounts, Saints could see if Fitz will come on a team friendly deal as he works towards his quest of playing for all 32 teams.

I definitely do not want to go the Darnold route.

When will the sports world stop gushing over west coast 5 star QBs who never do shite in the NFL?

I’d rather wait and see if they can grab Kyle Trask!

I’d rather try to get Trask or Mac Jones at the end of the 1st round.

I would feel better with Dak

He's been a terrible QB since he was at USC. Not sure why everyone was so high on him coming out early, he was clearly making bad decisions against PAC 12 teams and I guess they never really watched the games.

daarnold doesn't look like a winner.

For the “not Darnold” crowd, do you guys really think he couldn’t improve under Peyton?
I mean, Gase is just awful.
