#Saints star WR Michael Thomas suffered a high-ankle injury in Sunday’s win over the #Bucs, but it’s something he believes he can play through, sources tell me and

. With an extra day before next Monday’s game vs. #Raiders, nobody ruling Thomas out.

Yeah I wish he would take a few weeks off as well.

He only had a minor limp, I think he’ll be ok.

Well frick me running. I tuned into a Hester and Hannity segment without hearing the beginning. They were talking about somebody with a high ankle sprain and that it will last all season. Mentioned that surgery Tua had on both his ankles—Lin Franc (?). But they wouldn’t say who they were talking about again, but I was getting scared. Afraid, I timidly clicked the “Saints” link. And...well...here it is. frick

he's usually pretty damn good at diagnosing in game

escapes injury at 2 min warning. Blocking and rolled up on from behind and just reacts quickly enough to avoid more significant left high ankle injury. Limps off but should be OK for next week.

I think people hear high ankle and immediately panic (like I did). His doesn't appear to be too severe

Yeah but it had just occurred. These things tend to get a lot more inflamed in the hours afterwards. Next couple of days. Should get a good idea if he he’s getting some limited practices by Thursday/Friday. Not like he’s a guy that couldn’t play without a full week.

Sounds like good news. I still wouldn’t even let him get on the plane to Vegas. We’ve got plenty of weapons this year to go win this “road game” with no fans. He’s just too important to be fricking with a nagging high ankle sprain all season.

I think you’re being a bit dramatic. It sure didn’t look that bad when it happened and he immediately walked off the field on his own. Not many guys are doing that with a bad high ankle sprain. Just depends on what grade it is. And for one i don’t take anything the nfl network is reporting. Payton gives them 0 access to any information.

Maybe so. Let’s remember though, brothers, the new IR rule means you only have to miss 3 games.

That could be in play here. Means you can call up Jawaun Johnson or Lil Jordan if need be.

I would think we could beat the raiders without MT. Maybe rest is not a bad idea.

Carolina seemed to get to the edge in run plays, and we have a much more athletic line. Work the edges and exploit their LBers. They have legit Safeties.

Rest him. He shouldn't be needed against the Raiders.

If I looked back on the season and saw we lost to the Raiders because we didn't have MT, but because of that he was good to go the rest of the season, then I'd consider that a more than fair trade off. I think we can beat the raiders without MT, but you get the point. It's not a division game, it's not a conference game, rest him unless he doesn't feel limited whatsoever.

It was nice to see what actually felt like a lot of weapons on the field vs feeling like all we can do is force feed MT. Sanders, healthy Cook, healthy AK and Taysom along with MT is solid.

He needs to stay in film room and walk thru’s only this week. Not an injury that needs to be reaggravated weekly.

There is a 0% chance that a guy like Thomas is just going to shut it down over a minor ankle sprain. He will be taped up and drugged up enough to play through it.

No way I let him play next week and if the doc says the Tua surgery would help I would do it now. If we can’t beat the Raiders without 13 then we don’t deserve to be considered a playoff team.
