Idiots will say “so trade backkkkk!!!!”
But the Saints clearly wanted him and it was no guarantee he’d be there if they did. So they took who they wanted.

Just heard Turner interviewed on WWL. He seems like a nice, sharp guy. I still think we could have gotten him 15 picks later.

Draft someone else? And then draft another player and possibly another thanks to the extra picks.....I’m no NFL GM so don’t take my word for it....but I would assume just picking someone else is the most plausible solution.

It’s amazing how often you hear “just trade back” as if there’s a button you push and you just receive another teams picks and move back.

1. Saints don't trade back...literally never have in the first as long as Loomis is here
2. There was an immediate run on DEs after our pick, so you probably won't get him 15 picks later.
3. DE, CB, OT, QB are positions that are impossible to get in FA. If you have a chance to pick one you like, you do it.

Sean’s ego will be why he will never win another Super Bowl here. He has to find the off the wall prospect that blows up or make the play call no one is expecting, often in crucial situations.
