Here's hoping PfrickINGJ Williams gets another 2 or 3 DWI's. Ever how much he's paid , it's way over what he's worth . I t seems like he's been in the backfield 15 years.

Are you the alter of that guy who blasted this board about Meredith never playing a down in the nfl again?

These aren't the guys that I like the most, but I think they fill our needs without breaking the bank.
WR Cole Beasley
TE Jesse James
S Tre Boston
I could be wrong, but these are the kind of guys we should be targeting imo. Also, I think Beasley & Tre Boston have a low chance of busting. Not really sure on Jesse James, but even the top tier F.A. TE's aren't anywhere near close to a sure thing. Reasonable contracts with a low chance of busting seem like the smart thing to me.
I'd rather these 3 guys than 1 big name that costs a lot. If that 1 big name ends up being a bust...we probably royally screwed ourselves.

You got me Sherlock. I'm the alter for the last 7 years. However, that blaster may be from Chitown, who think that guy is soft as fluff.

Ok but on my online Madden 20 franchise, Golden Tate is an absolute beast so I think we should get him

If Teddy leaves, should we sign Fitzpatrick? This offseason is all about making another run for it.

Saints potential free agent targets: WR Adam Humphries
Saints 2019 free agency preview: TE Jesse James
quote:
Listed at 5'11 and 195 pounds, Adam Humphries has the ideal size for today’s slot receiver in the NFL… Watching him on tape, he shows great quickness horizontally and excels in the underneath routes. In particular, the Bucs used him often on the shallow cross where he had a knack for finding holes in zones… Humphries could aid the Saints offense in that he runs a lot of high percentage routes that wouldn’t require difficult throws from Drew Brees. He also adds value with his yards-after-catch ability. That dimension has been missing in this offense since the days of Lance Moore and Willie Snead. Humphries could be an option to bring that back.
Saints 2019 free agency preview: TE Jesse James
quote:
TE Jesse James, Pittsburgh Steelers. At time of writing, James ranks second among pending free agents in receiving yards (379), fifth in catches (26), and seventh in total snaps played (437). That looks like a player ready to break out, and at 25 years old he’s in position to do it. He’s below Vance McDonald on the depth chart (444 yards, 36 catches, just 384 snaps due to injury), who signed a contract through the 2021 season. It probably won’t take a big contract offer to get James out of Pittsburgh for a bigger role with the Saints.

I saw some hot take trades in one of those links that was intriguing.
Peat and a 5th to Texans for a 3rd.
2nd and 6th to 49ers for Kittle.
Bit of a stretch, but I'd be down for both of these trades.

Seems steep.

There is not a player we could possibly hope to get in the late second round that would be more of a “win now” move than this.
This is how smart organizations do “all in”

This would be perfect for us.
I'd actually give up all of our 2019 draft picks for Kittle if that's what the 49ers wanted. He's still under contract for 2019 (719 k) & 2020 (809 k).

Considering Peat's 2019 cap #, the fact that we wouldn't eat any dead money at all, & his recent injury history...it's actually almost even value.
I doubt the coaches would do the trade though. Maybe the Texans 2nd for Peat, a 5th. & 2 6th's. We would have to get better value than the Texans to trade Peat imo.

Pretty much what I was thinking. He's not a sure thing, but I think he's worth the risk for the right price. I don't see how his market value could be very expensive.

I like Tyrell Williams as a cheap WR target
Also, Cole Beasley and Adam Humphries

Yeh, we really need that additional target for Drew.
Posted on 2/15/19 at 10:52 am to TechDawg2007
We need to sign the best slot corner available. PJ Williams was horrible.

I'd easily give that for Kittle but why would SF trade him?
Posted on 2/15/19 at 6:19 pm to TechDawg2007
The safety FA class is too stacked for us not to snag atleast one very good player. Also the Bills released Charles Clay today! I would love to see him or Cook in a saints uniform next season

I’d do that deal but I doubt SF would. Kittle is cheap and elite, valuable commodity. SF also lacks receiving options

Oh absolutely. No shot they do this. We’d have to give more.

Hearing that Brees is in the process of restructuring to make cap space and Ingram is asking for 5.5 per.
