I disagree. Motive is what determines if a criminal offense was committed. When Atlantic City sports books are refunding bettors because of the missed call, you better believe somebody will be looking into it. We're talking tens of millions of dollars in damages to players, fans and bettors. There is legal precedent for prosecution if motive can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The stillshot of the hit with both refs in the frame is proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Charge them and then offer them a plea deal in exchange for testimony against the puppet master(s).
Motive is not important to my own determination that what happened was intentional and not accidental.
In the realm of criminal law, motive is important, but is almost never one of the elements of a crime.
But all talk of criminal acts, criminal investigations and criminal prosecutions is unnecessary because there is NO WAY that any prosecutor is going to start a criminal investigation here.
For years, there's been talk that one day the NFL would have to really do something about the poor officiating, but, that would never happen until it cost some team a Superbowl appearance. For all of those years, I've always thought that if that ever happened, it would happen to the New Orleans Saints.
Hard Luck Saints. Some things never change.

NFL is trying to force LA to be a viable market. Not only did they frick up by putting rams there, they doubled down and put the chargers there as well... gotta make sure at least one team gains some fans.. too bad LA is filled with a bunch of liberal Hollywood fricktards that dgaf about the NFL..

Most people are finally realizing how rigged/ bias the NFL is. A large percentage still refuse to acknowledge and continue to live in the “the matrix”. Enjoy your steak, fools.

I told everyone in the office Friday that it was going to be a Boston / LA Super Bowl.
They wanted the East Coast / West Coast game. They need the money for the new LA stadium too.
Back water Louisiana and fly over Kansas City Mo. was never going to be allowed over the coastal teams.
Remember the people who run the media are on the coast and the NFL is in league with them now and will not allow fly over country to be spotlighted as being successful.

Under most circumstances I would agree with you, and I'm not a lawyer so I am a little bit out of my element here.
That said, I see this as an exception.
If the motive was that one or more officials took bribes or placed bet(s) on the game, or if Goodell ordered the hit for the purposes of manipulating the outcome for whatever reason (help the Rams build a fanbase, get a larger TV market into the Super Bowl, etc), then a criminal act took place.
If the refs were mad at Sean Payton or had some personal vendetta but no material motive, it's bush league, unprofessional and highly unethical but not really criminal in nature.
Does that make sense?
In any case, that's the reasoning behind my statement regarding motive being relevant.

Yes. That makes sense.
Maybe the Refs were mad at the home crowd because it was too loud in there for the Refs comfort.

I agree with that assessment completely.
I would like to add that I don't believe that the NFL would have allowed what happened to the Saints happen to either of our big media market teams to the West and East: Dallas and Atlanta.
But it makes perfect sense to me why the NFL would want LA in the SB this season.

I’d bet no conspiracy just rogue point shaving. Conspiracy is the coverup
There is no way this crew missed that call. They all saw it. They are trained to look for minute details. They intentionally didn’t make the call.

Not even in the same vecinity as what happened Sunday. I'm sure you know that tho?
Here's a scenario that is pretty close to the same. Let's just say that as the Rams lined up for their FG to tie it at 23 at the end of regulation that a Saints player jumped the snap count blatantly early and proceeded to obviously and completely destroy the Rams Kicker Zeuraline before he could get the kick off. Then let's also throw out the fact that even tho EVERYONE on earth saw the foul and that it is 100% undeniable, right there on video that at LEAST 3 maybe more but at least 3 Professional Refs that are supposed to be the best of the best seeing as they were working a Championship game, had a PERFECT and DIRECT UNOBSTRUCTED view of the of the play but NO FLAG? Would everyone
just shrug it off and say "you get some right but you miss some too". Saints ball, take knee BALLGAME!!!
Are you still going to try and excuse that as just part of the game?

You realize that Williams was a member of the Saint's that game right?
So how are those 2 scenarios remotely close to being the same?

It's never that blatant or straight up. You can be clear with what you would like to happen w/o coming right out and ordering the HIT. Know what I saying Mr. Soprano?

Your assessment is accurate. Most of the small market teams are supporting cast.
