It was good. Wasn't pretty, but when you feel like you have lost and then at the end, come out with the "W" it is a great game.

Definitely had that same frustrating-to-exhilarating 2009 Washington game vibe.

Was aggravated for most of the game, then at the end, I was high-fiving and jumping up & down in my living room.

Both games even had crucial missed FG's by the opponent that could have won them the game.

It's weird. I thought Tampa would grind out the clock, but when they were lining up for the FG, I just knew they would miss it

I was nervous before this game.

when the delay started I thought, you've got to be fricking kidding me.

there has always been something about playing Tampa or Carolina the last few years. They give us a hard time.

that pass and catch from Brees to Colston at the end was the tits. I like that we won a rather low scoring game again.

This defense has played their arse off so far. Just imagine what it could be like when we get more guys healthy.

Anyone else getting that 09 vibe from this season?

I realize the offense isn't clicking yet, but I find the feel of these games eerily similar to the 09 season. Dramatic wins, pulling out something close to a miracle. The game today definitely was a lot like the Redskins game from the Super Bowl run. A win like this is huge in a lot of ways. It's good to escape with a victory, but they also will have a lot of things they'll be focusing on correcting. I think we are in for a wild, special season.

Me, too.

But I must confess, I got distracted looking at Twitter tweets, looked up & thought they were around the 40 at first, and I was thinking they weren't going to make a 50+ yard kick.

Then as they were lining up, I saw how close it was and thought "Oh, shite".

Then seconds later, he missed the FG and I was like "I KNEW IT!!!"

Great teams gut out wins like these. Saints could not win games like this last year

That's the only thing holding me back, specifically, that we ran the ball a helluva lot better.

But other-wise, there are a lot of parallels:

-New DC
-New FS
-Sean Payton called plays
-M. Jenkins played corner in 2009
-Routed Oakland in preseason 2009.
-Beat the Texans TD+ margin in preseason 2009
-Beat the Falcons in the Dome in our first meeting.
-Had miracle ending games
-started off 2-0

Russell Wilson is the underrated young QB.

I posted in the thread on the MSB just now. I reposted the threads where I was getting bashed by every 49er fan. I don't think my comments were that ridiculous.

I'd take Luck and Wilson over Kaepernick any day.
