It's an Insider article...anyone who has Insider care to mention where the 2009 and 2011 Saints offenses land on that list?

They rarely give 2011 green bay or new Orleans any credit. Fully expect them to be in the teens.

2011 was number 5.

Where were 1998 and 2013 Denver? 2007 New England? 1998 Minnesota?

color me shocked as hell
I remember seeing another similar topic on another site, "top 10 offenses". Both GB and NO were "honorable mentions"

That NE offense was video game like.

Of course all teams pre-1980 are omitted! Yay!
Posted on 6/19/17 at 8:45 pm to Mystictiger
only 1 Saints offense???
Posted on 6/19/17 at 8:48 pm to Crescent Connection
For us to be 5th it must be a PFF article, they wouldn't put us that high unless they had no choice.
Posted on 6/19/17 at 8:49 pm to YellaPurp
Let's conveniently omit the 1976 Baltimore Colts, the early 1970s Miami Dolphins, or the 1960s Packers! For my money they were as unstoppable an NFL offense that's ever existed.

considering Minn 98 is 30 that ranking is fricking laughable
Posted on 6/19/17 at 8:56 pm to Lester Earl
Denver was a top 3 offense that season, top 7 in passing, top 2 rushing. 98 Vikings was the 2nd best offense in football but 11th in rushing, Broncos were a more well-rounded offense.
Posted on 6/19/17 at 9:01 pm to Lester Earl
Minn 98 should be top 10 at the very least
Posted on 6/19/17 at 9:19 pm to CocoLoco
They do it by DVOA. They started tracking whatever it was in 1987 which explains the years.
98 Vikings were +24.0
11 saints were +35.3
07 Patriots were +41.1
quote:
Note: 0 percent DVOA represents the league average, so an offense with a +30 percent mark rated 30 percent better than an average unit. Also, stats other than total offensive DVOA represent the regular season only unless noted.
98 Vikings were +24.0
11 saints were +35.3
07 Patriots were +41.1

I presume postseason performance was not accounted for in this adjudication?
