ESPN has the Saints ranked 9 in their newest power ranking. (Behind 2 0-1 teams)
I know power rankings are useless and serve no purpose. But ESPN has topped it all with the disrespect. First they can’t give credit to the Saints for being the better team and they won cause there was something wrong with Aaron Rodgers.

Now they have the Saints ranked at 9 behind 2 0-1 teams.

Just ridikulous!!!

BSpn Power Ranking

quote:

9. New Orleans Saints (1-0)

Preseason ranking: 19

Top rookie: CB Paulson Adebo

It doesn't get any better than intercepting Aaron Rodgers in your NFL debut as part of a dominant defensive performance. And Adebo's performance couldn't have been any more important for a Saints team that was extremely thin at cornerback in Week 1. Adebo got the starting nod and handled himself very well despite being an obvious target for Rodgers, with an interception, a pass defense and three tackles. The third-round draft pick from Stanford should wind up as a No. 3 CB when Marshon Lattimore is healthy and Bradley Roby returns from suspension. But he has proven he's ready to step in whenever needed despite opting out of the 2020 college season. -- Mike Triplett

cbssports has them at #6. They moved up 14 spots in 1 week.

But I was told we're not supposed to be sold on Winston yet because it was only one game... #9 seems accurate in that context.

You don't understand what power rankings are. What you are looking for is called standings. We aren't going to end up being better than every team that lost week 1.

Anywhere in the 6-10 range is reasonable at this point. Particularly with injuries

More fuel for the locker room. I still need a few games to see how we do and how bad Green Bay might actually be.
I’m optimistic that we are actually that good though.

The horror. Should the Texans be upset that they aren't at least 16th since they are 0-1? What about Raiders fans being ranked 19th while Balt is 10th?

Yea I laughed at this one. One team annihilated the other and yet is behind them? Along with a few other 0-1 teams on their list.

Think some of the writers were super down on them and don’t want to look stupid now.

To be fair, the Saints also bitch slapped the Bucs during the regular season and we know how that ended up.

To be fair, Brees was pretty beat to hell by the end of the year. And we really missed Kwon that game. Injuries matter at the end and the Bucs were the healthier team and we still could have beat them if not for stupid turnovers. Bucs got lucky. Not to mention hardly no fans in the dome, so no real home field advantage.
