Drew Brees is the John Cena of the NFL.
Every woman and their kids love him on the field, but behind the scenes he is a huge douche bag and dick. I bet he has 5,009,900 rules in his house just like him too

love Brees. But if his off the field PR/sponsorship/restaurant endeavors don't make your cringe-dar go off I got some bad news.
What's the bad news. I can take it.

So does anyone here have any first hand knowledge of Drew's douchieness, our is this just that we like to pretend there are no good people out there, or we just hate that anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit and his platform would use it to, you know, make money? Something we would all do in a heartbeat given the opportunity.

Do you see Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers doing all these pathetic gigs? Didn't think so. It's not like he's only sponsored by all these major companies. He'd sign a deal with Krystal or Magnolia Discount if it meant he could make an extra 1000 bucks a year. Just face it, hes got as much hustle as Hillary Clinton. He tried to sue his own mother....

You look at those other two QB's and their deals stop there. Drew is straight hustling. I see 8 Drew Brees commercials for every 1 Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers commercial

Maybe you could fathom that there are local deals they have that we won't see living where we live?
Posted on 6/29/17 at 3:13 pm to sicboy
Plenty of the crap deals are not local. And it's also the sheer number of deals. Brees is an NFL superstar, he really should only be doing major endorsements.
Brees hops on anything and everything, that's obvious to any reasonable person
Maybe you can fathom that Brees sued his own mother and that you are probably a **** irl if you think what Brees does is standard. That is "the news" you asked for

I didn't know anything about his mother, so I googled it to see what the story was. They apparently had an estranged relationship. She was using his image in commercials for her political campaign in Austin. He said she said, but apparently he didn't want his image used and he threatened legal action for her to stop. She did. A few years later in 2009 she committed suicide by overdosing on pills after being tied to some seedy business dealings.
First of all, he didn't sue her. He did through his agent threaten her. Second of all it seems like his mother was a mess. It very well may have been reasonable not to want to be publicly linked to a potentially corrupt campaign like that. Not everyone's mother is just some sweet lady who did no wrong.
Sometimes people's parents or family are toxic people, and ties need to be cut. None of us really know what was going on with their relationship. It's a pretty shitty thing to slam someone for when you could not have any idea where blame may or may not lie.

No facts here, please. Brees is an a-hole. Accept it.

Fair enough. Drew can obviously do whatever he wants. It just comes off as a little insincere to me.
Posted on 6/29/17 at 4:29 pm to breauxmosexual
Yeah, I have no real idea about him personally. I have heard a story or two from people who have dealt with him personally, but you never know how to take stuff like that as meaning anything. I could see getting an insincere vibe from him. He kind of has one of those obviously overtly planned and developed or maybe composed public personas that is difficult to swallow as being genuine. I don't know him personally to have an official position though, and I definitely wouldn't use whatever happened with his mother as evidence of anything.

quote:
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.
Marcus Tullius Cicero would have pegged all of you supposed Saints fans with the preceding quote. Pretending to be a Saints fan while defaming Brees' character reveals exactly what you are.

I heard Brees helped take the statues down at night when no one was looking. I also heard he's being investigated for some of the muggings that took place in the quarter. The guy should be run out of town.

If I were a QB, I guess I'd be anti-tackling too.
