It goes to his foundation. I agree that the the 9K value is quite high. I would guess that there was some research done about what a helmet signature is worth and then add that to a limited edition career stats helmet.
I still do not get to 9K.
Most Full Sized Helmets are around $400-450 with COA.

Depends on what signatures are on it. I have a 2019 LSU signed helmet with 75 signatures on it, including multiple current/future first round picks (including Burrow) with COA. I'd bet it's worth more than that.
I would never get to 9k for Brees' signature, even with the rest. Not even half of that.
