I think the 9ers and the saints both fit the ring chasing part, it comes down to who is going to pay him more and/or where he feels comfortable. He's seen what San Fran has to offer and I would assume by this point he's seen what the saints were offering. Maybe it's just the way my brain works, but my decision would take all of 30 seconds once I finished with the saints.
Now supposedly there are other suitors but considering how "serious" his discussions were with the niners and the fact he skipped Denver and came to NOLA, I think it's safe to assume those are the 2 most interested parties.

You have to believe the fact that he had his best years with Ryan is playing a major role in this. I hope that Brees reaches out to him as well.
Call me crazy, but for some reason I think despite all of the moves the 49ers are making, along with how stacked they are, I think they will have a rough season. The loser of the Superbowl always seems to have a rough following season. Take into account that they made it to back to back NFC title games, their odds are just not likely. Could easily see Kaepernick having a slump of a second year as a starter.

Agreed about the niners but most people don't see it that way.
I remember when the jets were pretty much the same team.

Why are y'all so worked up about Nnamdi? He was mediocre his first season in Philly and downright bad last season. Rotoworld has been calling him one of the biggest FA busts of all time...

That's not crazy. He came on strong for a stacked team and gave teams fits. They'll figure him out like they did Vick. Kaepernick needs the running element to succeed. Russell Wilson doesn't, I think the Seahawks win the west next year.

You've got a point there

And I hate to repeat myself but this is why I think Namdi will see this and take Drew Brees and the best offensive playcaller in football over Kaep any day.
It could wind up being the difference maker in us hauling namdi in.

I like him for the potential. If he doesn't pan out then so be it. The defense was arguably the worst ever last season, I think it's worth a shot to put him with the coordinator that turned him into a star.

They need to remind him even if San Fran offers him more money that it will probably be less by the time he pays all those high taxes in Cali. Especially if Jindal gets his no income tax plan passed.

Drew has torched him badly in the past but people get really caught up in the QB of the month hype

Hopefully, he's smarter than this.

Any idea on when that would go into effect?

Not sure. They still have to pass it first.

a few of my unsolicited thoughts...
several reasons to go to SF over NO:
- they were just in the title game (more recent success)
- they are young, new, clearly upcoming, and have lots of draft picks to get even better and stay that way for quite some time
- Chance to make one of the best defenses even better
Reasons to go to NO over SF
- Play with one of the best QB ever
- Help turn around the worst defense in the NFL. Ever. (some guys might see this as a challenge i suppose)
- reunite with Rob Ryan where he knows he can succeed
- only a decent defense from being a perennial contender/winner
Someone mentioned Kaepernick will likely have a sophmore slump next year. I couldnt agree more. Usually it takes about a season for the rest of the NFL to figure out how to defend something consistently.
