What a great interview & he is dead on correct on everything he said. He makes me want to run through a wall with this speech.

Eisen was trying so hard to steer the narrarative to the "can't we just move on" crap.....given he's neck deep in the NFL Network, seems like he was the first to get the marching orders

Eisen is a moron and a parrot. He is not even intellectual in any way when it comes to analysis, critical thinking or reason.
That said, the argument of Lutz could’ve missed is stupid. It’s still the Saints kicking for the win with no time on the clock. That changes a ton of things. In the end, it took away a legitimate chance for them to win the game outright. Instead, the Saints were asked to overcome the refs’ mistake and win it while the Rams were in a no lose situation. They should never have had that chance to begin with and were gifted that.
It is what it is, and I am done with the NFL for a while after this. I just have way more important stuff in my life than eating my time, energy and money supporting a corrupt business claiming to be a fair competition.
Other fans can claim sour grapes and say saints fans are ridiculous but just watch when nothing will change, no official will be held accountable, and the NFL will is exactly what is doing now, and act like nothing happened.

Shocker that the NFL employee got his gag order and shuts down any suggestion of conspiracies. The condescension to just laugh in someone's face when that topic is breached is offensive. How can you deny that something so egregious might have something more to it than a bad judgment call by the refs. There's so much money involved in these things, it's not crazy to believe the powers that be have some incentive to want to nudge the results in a certain direction.
The media is so bought and paid for. CNN, Fox, even freaking NFL network . They all have their agendas and all slant the reporting to paint the narrative that they want. Then stamp out any opinions to the contrary.

Eisen is one of only a handful of reasonable/fair talking heads throughout the whole broadcast industry, CFB & NFL. There are some morons in this thread.
Eisen makes a valid point: while the odds were against Lutz missing the chip-shot FG, there is absolutely no guarantee he makes it. (Ask Justin Tucker.)
If Lutz misses the kick, even with only 15 seconds or less left on the clock, the game remains tied at 20-20. And that's not counting a Rams version of a Minnesota Miracle in the few seconds left.
To acknowledge this point doesn't mean Eisen got his barking orders from above. It's simply a logically possible point, not marinated in B&G conspiracy juice.

Yeah I agree. Eisen is usually fair and he brought up a reasonable point with Brees vs Brady being the bigger SB draw. The true "conspiracy" theory would suggest the league saw the Saints as a loyal but limited market and merchandise mover in terms of growth potential.
Pierce missed his counter and should have went with the NFL would be playing the long war with paying off a 5 billion dollar stadium + tapping into the 2nd largest US media market by getting some legitimate LA fans to bandwagon for a "young" team vs selling them an old Phillip Rivers.
Also while Brady vs Brees would have been epic...both QBs are in their 40s and wouldnt do much for the future of the league moving forward.

Great to hear him say those things!

Eisen is the main mouthpiece for the NFL Network. The same network that will be sharing work space with the LA Rams. You think he is gonna crap where he eats & lend any validity to the idea that the SAINTS got screwed? That while there may not have been any funny business going on, all the optics of the situation say otherwise?
NFL has done absolutely NOTHING to make anything show that this is not just business as usual for them. No B&G glasses, conspiracy theories, or anything else....just the opinion of a person with 2 eyes and a brain

And we will never know because the opportunity was stolen from us.

Rich: We do not know if Lutz will hit the upright or there's a muffed snap
Um, yes we do Rich. Lutz kicked the damn FG the very next play. That event happened, and we saw the result

Fine.
Do the correct thing and let it come to that.

In this venue I'm not so concerned with his politics or his resume. I do agree with his opinion on the thrown call and what, if any influence it might supply.
