There was no doubt that we would field a team next year, but with all the cuts, trades, and changes, do we still see Loomis as a miracle worker when it comes to the salary cap? This team will be dramatically different next year. Looks like they tried to win big last year and since it didn't work, they are completely rearranging the team.

I think that the Cap finally really bit us and we are having to gut the team to make things fit.

The team is far from being gutted. You never know, this could go down as one of the most genius off seasons of loomis' tenure.

No

Graham trade had little to do with the salary cap

Grubbs was likely getting cut(he wasn't great) but got flipped for a 5th.

We can do better than lofton

This is a change in philosophy

There will be plenty of cap space next season once dead money from Graham, Grubbs and Lofton come off. Received a player of need and a 1st rounder for Graham and a 5th for a player with a big contract and may have been cut anyway. I don't know what the future holds, but they are trying to clean up a 7-9 season. Genius? Maybe not. But so far, the moves seem solid.

Nope. Trading away Drew's best receiver and trying to trade away another is stupid.

The Pats win 12 games every year and never go through offseasons like this

That would be miracle worthy

This is just cleaning up Loomis' failures

That has never been confirmed.

And what good is a receiver if you don't have time to throw or your QB gets injured

Loomis said that he had 15-20 moves that he wanted to do not counting the draft. We aren't done yet.

By that logic, they win 12 games every year; so they don't have to go through off seasons like this.

If we wanted to we literally could have just converted Galette, Graham, Byrd, and Lofton's roster bonuses to get under the cap without cutting one person.

Then the pay cuts easily pay for Ingram and maybe even Browner.

These are football moves, not pure cap moves. Guys that weren't worth their contracts are gone or took pay cuts (minus PT; he was worth his but we were making room for Spiller or Bush).

We could have fielded the same fricking team that went 7-9 and that's what all these complaints seem like they wanted. We are trying to improve and we ain't even close to done. Chill.

And for the last fricking time the Graham move LOST us cap space this year. We didn't get rid of him to get under. And Graham is the ONLY great player we lost (PT was still good but is passing his prime).

We only lost four fricking players, added two, AND kept Ingram. What do people want? Did the Graham trade frick up everyone's minds?

And we got another first round pick for crying out loud.
