That is insanely cheap. What was the restructure for then?

well he did miss the first 8 games, might not play this Sunday so, 600k for 7 games.

We all hope he can still play and the Saints can resign him next year.

Not sure, but I think you can only restructure a particular contract once a year, so they maybe did not want to waste the opportunity to create a little cushion. Also, I think they can rollover unused cap space to next year.

We only punted a little over a million into next year. Armstead's contract expires in 2022. So we took what was owed to him this year (~5 million) and spread it out over this year plus the next 3.

$75,000 a game and a likely shot at the playoffs. Missing out on the long training camp and not as beat up as most players by this time.

Not bad for sitting out half the season

If you are the Ravens how do you feel about a guy taking nearly a 90% pay cut to not play for you lol

I wonder if it was $600k base for the year (which means he's actually making 8/17ths of that which is about $282k), or that is the total of what he will get minus incentives.

As for Armstead, we can roll unused cap forward and he's stayed healthy so far so they likely see him sticking around (whereas before they may have considered cutting him next year if he wasn't healthy this year).

I'm also curious if the incentives are for games played or stats/awards related.

I think his goal was to get healthy and then opt to play with a good team in a good situation for him.

You go to the Ravens with Flacco and continue to be unproductive your next deal is probably a camp invite.

Salary is $1.2M prorated to $600k, with $500k in incentives. So will only cost Saints $1.1M if he hits incentives.

The same way Pelicans fans felt seeing Boogie take 1/64th his worth to play for the GS Warriors.

The cheap buyin, incentives and short term on Bryant makes me think Bryant came looking for a Superbowl and the Saints came looking for a restoration project they can sign long-term after this year.
