Cumulative Saints PFF scores after Week 11
Posted on 11/18/19 at 1:56 pm
Posted on 11/18/19 at 1:56 pm
I didn't do the PFF scores for the Falcons game, so this weeks scores are from the last 2 games (Bucs & Falcons). The "Last week" game is actually the Cardinals game from before the BYE week.
The score listed next to the name is the combined scores from weeks 1-11. The score listed next to "Last week" is the combined scores from weeks 1-8. It would take too long to change every "Last week" to "3 weeks ago", so I just kept the same format.

Scores that increased from Week 8 to Week 11
CB Patrick Robinson - 20.0
LB Kiko Alonso - 14.6 He looks better than Klein to me.
LB Demario Davis - 10.8 His score finally matches his play. Leader of the defense
FB Zach Line - 5.1 Nobody talks about him, but he's been great this year.
DT Malcom Brown - 3.8 Beast against the run
OL Will Clapp - 3.6 He's been solid as the 6th O-Lineman
DT Mario Edwards - 3.4
TE Jared Cook - 3.1 Very good in the passing game lately. Needs to learn to block from Josh Hill
LB A.J. Klein - 1.8
DT Shy Tuttle - 1.6
CB Marshon Lattimore - 1.6
FS Marcus Williams - 1.4 He barely ever makes a mistake. Great trait in a free safety
RG Larry Warford - 1.1 He's playing like he was at the start of the season. Very good
SS Vonn Bell - 0.6 Turnover machine & great against the run
DT David Onyemata - 0.5
CB Eli Apple - 0.5 With Lattimore being out...we would be screwed without Apple
QB Taysom Hill - 0.4
WR Mike Thomas - 0.4 1st team All Pro again
RT Ryan Ramczyk - 0.4 He's our best O-Lineman
DE Marcus Davenport - 0.4 He's a monster against the run already. His pass rush will improve
Scores that decreased from Week 8 to Week 11
WR Tre'Quan Smith - 7.4 He hasn't done much at all since his injury
DE Trey Hendrickson - 7.2 His score is going to drop when he doesn't get to the QB
DB CGJ - 5.8
RB Latavius Murray - 5.2
DT Sheldon Rankins - 4.3 He's stopping the run, but isn't getting to the QB like last year
WR Ted Ginn - 2.5
OL Andrus Peat - 1.7 Nick Easton looked better...like a lot better
WR Deonte Harris - 1.6 We need him back fast, b/c Kamara returning punts is nerve racking imo
CB P.J. Williams - 1.6
OL Patrick Omameh - 1.4
QB Drew Brees - 1.3
LT Terron Armstead - 1.0
DE Cam Jordan - 0.7 9.5 sacks so far, & he started off slow. Going to another Pro Bowl
OC Erik McCoy - 0.5
RB Alvin Kamara - 0.4 Looks like he's back to his old self
TE Josh Hill - 0.1 Doesn't put up big numbers, but he's been great for us this year
Nick Easton blows Peat out of the water in pass blocking. I didn't really watch his run blocking, but I'd prefer Easton over Peat at LG...even when Peat is healthy. If Easton plays like that all year...we won't have to search for a starting LG in the off-season.
Kiko Alonso looks like a much more complete LB than Klein. His pass coverage is a lot better than Klein's, & he's just as good against the run imo. Kiko is the guy that batted the ball (about 15-20 yards downfield) which led to a Vonn Bell interception.
As far as a comparison...Klein is harder to move, & he hits harder. Kiko is easily better in coverage, has better instincts, he's faster, & taller. I prefer Kiko.

If Easton keeps playing like that...we won't be cutting him next year. His 2020 cap # is 5.5 mil.

Nick Easton will stop by shortly for apology acceptance.

Ted Ginn doesn't catch a pass (and dropped at least one) last week, and this week he catches a touchdown pass and drops?
I'd like a word, please.

I did see Ginn screw up trying to block a couple of guys. That probably had something to do with him dropping.

Surprised by this. By his standards, Hill did not have a good game. Dropped the KO return, took a deep sack, had 1 run for 2 yards, and 1 catch for 2 yards.
He must have been solid in all of the other ST plays, because the sack and dropped return were both terrible plays.

We've come a long ways from some on this board wanting to prematurely cut him a few weeks into the season to now where he absolutely has value on the roster.

I really have no clue why Easton was not active all year.
Is he THAT bad in practice and just a gamer? Because he played very well.

Remember that this week's score is a combination of the Bucs & Falcons game. He probably had a good score against Atlanta.

I can’t remember where but I read he was inactive essentially because he’s not able to backup the tackle positions. If he plays like he did Sunday peat will become a utility linemen. Especially since he can backup every position but center on the line.
