Wasted is extreme through
Drew Brees has been one of the elite Qbs while playing for the saints, yet we have only made the playoffs 50% of the time
Here are other top qbs make percentage
Brady 93% total,100% last 10 years
Manning 88%, 100% the last 10 years
Rodgers 88%
Big Ben 71%
Wilson 83%
Luck 75%
It is criminal we miss the playoffs more than we make it with brees.
If we got to the dance more often with him, we would have made 2-3 more legit super bowl runs in my opinion
Also, here are the scoring defense rankings for the elite QBs if you want to see how we wasted Brees here

We already have a dynasty of this era ... perhaps the greatest NFL dynasty of all time.
It just happened to fall during Brees' career....who just happens to be playing at the same time as the greatest QB and Head Coach that this league has ever seen.

That is no excuse at all for us to be as bad on defense as we have been
Average scoring defense ranking for Brees in New Orleans has been 23
That's ducking pathetic

This can't be underscored enough. Half the Patriot games every year are basically spirited scrimmages.

It was wasted. 1 ring considering who you have at QB is a huge underachievement. Brees is a legendary QB who throughout his career has had no help. Cost him at least two more rings. You have him losing to trash like Alex Smith, Matt Hasselbeck, and the worse Case Keenum. Brady doesn't lose to these types in big games. All because you can't get him any help on defense. Just think about the last 12 seasons and all the trash defense we fielded. Some historically bad defense. fricking guy scores 40 a game but can't win because you have worthless Sam Bradford score 42

Wasted?
He won a super bowl FFS.

I understand the playoff element of it, but making the playoffs does not equal Super Bowl wins.
If it did Manning and Rodgers would have more.
Bottom line is that most teams end the season on a bad note. Losing in the playoffs is not really any more rewarding than not.
It is about titles and either you get them or you don't.

You are actually proving my point without even knowing it. Do you actually think the patriots players and the Bill Belicheck system are THAT much better than anything anyone else can come up with. This is professional sports and they literally have a cakewalk to a first round bye every year, which everybody knows is a huge deal. They were up against one of the worst playoff teams of all time and still getting blatant favoritism. I’ve literally never seen them not get the call in a game that really mattered

It’s on you to put together a great team and get to the playoffs every year. But in a game where every team is loaded with talent, the potential to stick your hand in and affect the outcome of the game through scheduling and officiating is literally limitless. And it’s not an anti saints thing, pretty much everyone not named the pats is going to get hosed eventually

So what about the interception that Marcus Williams made that put the Saints in business in Vikings territory down 17-7?
what about the punt getting deflected late in the game and giving the Saints solid field position?
how about the kick returns that Roby and PT made in the 2009 NFCCG? not to mention the defense collecting a bunch of turnovers. And in the Super Bowl win against the Colts, the special teams made the play the swung the momentum of the game. Then the defense put the icing on the cake on Porter's pick 6.
the heart breaking loss to the 49ers saw a nice rally by the Saints after a flurry of turnovers by the offense early on. Yeah, the D choked at the end but Brees also tossed a host of interceptions that day.
in the playoff game in Seattle a few years ago the Saints didn't score until the 4th quarter. He's somewhat correct in this take but there are also points he skips over as well.
But thats what a good radio host should do.

Really?
This year was much more exciting than our usual 7-9 seasons because the Saints were competitive in every game and made a playoff run. Ended on a sour note but still way better than just sucking all year

What was wasted? He has a Super Bowl ring, multiple records and multiple postseason appearances.
I don’t think wasted is the right word but you could say they underachieved.
In 12 years they’ve only made the playoffs 6 times and had 5 7-9 seasons They’ve only advanced past the division round twice and not since 2009. In 2011, arguably the Saints best team was playing at SF in the division round because they lost to 4-12 Tampa Bay and the 2-14 Rams. The 2013 team blew a chance to win the division losing to the Jets and blowing games on late TDS to NE and Carolina.
quote:
I don’t hear anyone saying Favre, Marino or Rodgers career is wasted
In 16 years with Favre the Packers made the playoffs 11 times they had only 1 losing season, won 1 SB played in another and 2 other NFCCG. He also made a 5th CCG with Minnesota.
In 10 years with Rodgers GB has made the playoffs 8 times, had only 2 losing seasons, his first year as starter and this year when he was hurt. 1 SB and 3 NFCCG. There have, however been many that have criticized McCarthy for not doing more
