I didn't really get the move to release Scott and Williams who looked great during preseason and bring in Gillislee. Scott proved his worth this preseason and deserved to make the roster. Gillislee is a tough runner but has ball security issues and dick for field vision Scott is younger, contributes on ST and hits the hole faster.

I know I've been singing Scott's praises all preseason and am admittedly a bit biased, but why are we sticking with Gillislee? And only 2 fricking runningbacks for that matter. When it looked like Kamara might have been hurt today things looked pretty grimm. Can we bring back Scott or Williams?

Gillislie has looked horrid.

The line hasn't blocked well either.

I've noticed Peat especially has been shitting the bed. He usually opens big holes and has been getting pushed around. Hopefully he gets back to form and the running game gets back to where it was

Well the point is we knee what we had when we drafted him and he actually expeded expectations if you ask me so why the f*** did we cut him if he is who we thought he was and more???????!!!?? the only thing I can think of is we thought maybe we got a steal in the next Kareem hunt. Cuz what else does the guy have to do

You could technically insert this quote into any line discussion at any time during any point of any season and it would be factually accurate.

so why the f*** did we cut him

Ive run through that question so many times and the only conclusion ive come to is he must have banged CSP's daughter

It may have to do with his pass blocking. That's not something that we would have necessarily watched for in preseason but absolutely shows up in practice. You can't get Brees killed if the RB misses his blitz pickup assignment.

Id buy that for Scott, but what about Williams? Brees actually commented that he was one of the better blocking RBs he has worked with and reminded him of Ingram in that capacity. I guess I just dont get why we let go Williams and Scott when both are worlds better than Gillislee

I think it's worth a shot but he's not going to make that 3rd and 2 on the ground very often. CSP like backs that can catch in open space and Scott can do that.

There are several ways to pick up 3rd and 2nd that Scott could convert

Scott wont win rushing inside but apparently neither can Gillislee

We have 2 games togo while MI is out and it would be nice to have that option in a back.

but what about Williams?

I think Williams pissed off CSP with how lackadaisical he was in the last preseason game on that potential TD pass and 2 point conversion.

If that was really the case Scott would have stayed on the 53 instead of going to the PS and Williams being called up.

Payton just seems to have a huge hard on for Gillislee, and exactly like I thought he would he is trying to use him like a short yardage back, which he isn't.

Gillislee or Jonathan Williams will probably be cut in about 2 weeks...whenever MI comes back.

I agree though. I'd like Boston Scott on the team.
