I think we all expect it, but this does sound like someone who plans to take big money and a starting job somewhere else. He should. I'd love for him to stay here, but he has earned the pay day and opportunity. I do think he will always hold a special place in his heart for NOLA, as will all of us.

quote:

“Last year everyone said I turned down X amount of dollars to go back to New Orleans. Honestly, for me, I’m a businessman but I’m a smart businessman, Bridgewater said. “I don’t make decisions with my heart, I use my brain to think things through. Last year I made the decision to return to New Orleans and it worked out for the better for me. This year, it’s one of those deals where like I said it’ll be the same thing. I don’t try to make any decision of the impulse of my heart. I think things through and go from there.”

Honestly fine with me. If someone pays him a ton of money it just makes the decision to go a different way easier.

That is his agent speaking through him. I think he will be the starting QB for the Raiders, Chargers, or Patriots next year.

Hopefully Pats. Chargers OL is a mess. I think he knows this and will only go where he is put in the best chance to perform well. It's why he stayed here rather than go to Miami last season.

Raiders aren't looking for a QB.

Colts though? That would be a great landing spot for him

That would be a downgrade for all of those teams except maybe the Raiders.

QB for the Raiders

so you think Raiders trade Carr after his best year of his career on a fairly cheap starting qb contract for another 3 yrs?

Well not really for the Chargers..

Rivers is gone and just had 23 tds and 20 ints.

The have a ton of skill players and Teddy could really succeed there IMO

That OL is terrible. He would get hammered playing there.

Debatable. Brady looks done and Rivers is a turnover machine.

It's not that cut and dry w/ Carr.

The Raiders are looking for buzz moving to a new city, and Carr's contract is not terrible but it's still weight on their cap if they don't believe he's the true answer for the franchise. Obviously trading him is more beneficial to their books, but finding a partner is likely tough.

Ideally in today's NFL you either want to have an elite QB or a QB on a rookie deal. There's a rumor mill that suggests they could be looking to move him. If they do, Bridgewater is a good stop-gap option that potentially can lead a team to the playoffs.

he's about as light weight as there is comparing newer qb deals.

They better have Tom Brady walking through that door if they make such a move.

I agree - but if he's not your franchise QB I could see them looking to trade him regardless. There's been smoke about him being shopped for multiple years now.

I'm still calling the Teddy to Tampa Bay. No way they are giving Winston the money he wants. He averages 4 INTs a game almost. Teddy will come in and make better decisions and have way less turnovers.

I prefer Teddy to the Steelers. Ben should be done this year

Ben said he plans on coming back, but who knows what he looks like after the injury?
