One is over 40.
The other is approaching his peak years.

Brees compiled his 6-3 record this season against a schedule with a combined record of 60-65-1.

Bridgewater compiled his 5-0 record this season against a schedule with a combined record of 37-33.

Besides the whole nostalgia and familiarity of the Brees name, why is one coming back and the other likely not to be resigned?

I give credit more towards the defense of the 5 wins while Teddy was at QB.

Explain, in detail, to everyone how Brees is the problem.

Then we should ditch Brees and Teddy and go and get Eli Manning by your logic.

You spend so much time creating those novels on the OT but can’t be bothered to look beyond the team records here.

The 5-3 record includes the Rams game in which TB played most of.

Two of TB’s wins, were games in which the offense scored zero TDs. Meanwhile one of Brees’s losses is a game in which he scored SIX TDs!

Brees is 3rd in passer rating and 5th in passing yards per game (in which he played most of). He’s PFF’s no.1 rated passer in the league.

Hey, I don’t watch the games and don’t care if the Saints win or lose. But I do love New Orleans and I like the stats of football. Most important stat is winning and winning against good teams. The objective data shows that the Saints are a better team with Bridgewater than Brees. That is, if you define better in wins and losses. If you are more concerned about keeping a player because he reminds you of a title 10 years ago or because you have pajamas with his name sewed on the back, you might have different criteria used to determine better.

Just stop. There’s more to who is a better QB then just wins and losses. It’s a TEAM game you dumbass.

Also once again, one of Brees’s losses is a game in which he barely played. Why are you ignoring that?

And the stats would support the better team is the one with Bridgewater, not Brees, getting the start.

Why are you so afraid to really look into the wins and losses? TB had much better defensive performances by the Saints D to work with. Please explain to me how that’s Brees’s fault. Because it seems like you’re arguing that the Saints D would’ve played drastically better against the 49ers then with Brees.

I think this is the problem. Post the defensive stats for the games with Brees & Bridgewater as well. Those stats tell the story a lot better.

You're using selective stats that don't mean shite in the grand scheme of things. Nobody (even Teddy) thinks that Bridgewater is a better QB than Brees. Teddy's mom might be the only person on the planet that thinks that.

Quote from Teddy after Brees got injured, "I'm not Drew Brees."

Quote from Brees about Teddy after Brees got injured, "You're in good hands."

They both know the truth & respect each other. Leave it at that.

Brees threw five (5) passes against the Rams; Bridgewater threw thirty (30). Why assign Brees the loss?
