Not sure what this is all about. Whether it's us moving on from Butler or just trying to throw smoke at the Patriots, but figured it was discussion worthy at least.

Sherman is 29. That's about the age when most CB's start losing a step. It would be a foolish trade for the Saints. We'd be trading for what Sherman used to be, not what he is or is going to be. And at the cost of $11 million a year.

The deep secondary class and the big salary are why i don't want Butler.
(I don't want Sherman either)
Edit: Let the down votes rain.

Do. Not. Want. I see this turning to be another Byrd flop... just won't do good here

just draft a young stud CB to go with breaux. PJ might stay healthy this year. he looked good when healthy. I am not counting on swann anymore.

Even without counting on Swann, still could be good depth. Moore, Crawley also good depth. Add a top 3-round rookie and we're looking solid

Tabor will be available in the 3rd round with the 40 he posted

True, but he's only played 6 seasons.
I don't mind the age. My issue with him is, I just don't think he's going to be as good without the Seattle defense surrounding him.
I don't trust him enough to throw him out there on an island and guard Mike Evans, Julio Jones or Kelvin Benjamin.

He also doesn't follow the #1 WR around the field. He stays on the left side & covers whoever they put in front of him.

One thing to note Sherman contract is currently structured such a way that if we acquire him, and he struggles we can cut him with next to no money dead.

Sounds like Seattle is pulling a NE and knows when a player is on the decline but hyping him to maximize his trade value. (not talking about butler)

Bookies are more right than wrong.

Nope nope nope
Just draft Tre White at 32 and we'll be all set

I'm over trading for Butler or Sherman. If it costs us pick 11, 32, or 42 for a corner that we have to pay top dollar for then it's just not worth it IMO. As crazy as it might sound, I'm relatively comfortable with our corners when they are healthy. We need the picks much more. Draft a fricking corner with one of those first 3 picks in a draft that is deep in corner talent and use the other 2 to bolster other positions of need. We've already shitted away so much money on veteran trades that we simply don't have the luxury of cap space to do it again.
LB and DE can make a bigger impact on improving this defense by actually generating a pass rush to help the secondary out.
