That's how I see it anyway. Which positions would be better to address with draft? Which with FA?

I think your order is solid. OL and depth on it to me is always primary. WR no question is a huge need as many have pointed out we really need a true #2.

LB is further down than this. DT is much more critical. We had significant injuries at the position, so we need to solidify depth if not actually find a reliable starter. Rankins may not be here much longer, and I'm not certain he is reliable at this point due to his injuries.

I'm not so sure MDS.
Who do we have besides Davis?
Who is under contract and who at LB'er can finish a year?
We have Davis a good starter. Robinson a good backup.
Don't see anything else.

In no particular order.

LG
Safety depending on Vonn Bell
CB depending on Jenkins/Apple
DT depending on Onyemata and Rankins injury
QB depending on Brees and Bridge
LB
WR

Kiko tore his ACL in January and is a prime cut csndidate.

Klein is FA. Hard to know if u can count on Anzalone with his injury history.

Last year of Davis’s deal, and he’s no spring chicken.

LB is a big need.

I'm always on the load up on OL train and it's a huge need but I really hope we could get another playmaker at wr with our first pick this year.

The Saints had the best Running OL and the 4th Best Pass Blocking OL......

We do not need OL.....

WR, DT (Maybe give Michael Brockers a look), CB, and OLB.

Armstead is injury prone and Peat is so meh. Watch the games. The dude is constantly getting bullied. We definitely could use OL.

Biggest need? For Payton and the front office to realize Brees is not capable of carrying this team in the playoffs and that the contracts and personnel moves need to be tailored accordingly.

did you watch the Minnesota game????? you can’t honestly say that Peat and Easton are starting material at LG. we need someone who can actually pass block on a weekly basis

WR and OL should be addressed in the draft. Even though our draft capital is shite. LB needs to be in FA. Can't remember the last time Payton and his crew were able to develop a LB they drafted.

1) OL - Need a Peat replacement and someone who can potentially take over for Armstead one day, or when he gets hurt.

2) DT - Need a Rankins replacement as he oft injured and his contract is up.

3) WR - We need a 2nd option, but the WR class is deep, so it gets pushed down a bit. The emergence of Cook also helps. With Thomas, Cook and Kamara, we just need a solid WR to catch 30-40 balls. If the team believes Butler can be that guy, then this isn’t as much a need. Ginn isn’t that guy though and Smith gets hurt too much.

4) LB - Davis is great but getting up there in age. Klein is ehh. I’d love a young athletic linebacker that isn’t on IR (Anzalone/Ellis)

5) S - Bell & Williams’ contracts are coming up. We will have to see what Hampton can do, but I’m not sure we can afford to keep both Bell and Williams with all the other contracts coming up.

Actually I think Robinson is not a good backup. He was out of position way too often when on the field.

Klein had his best year with us in 2019, as did Alonso. Watch that 49rs game again, and you will see just how much they were missed on defense. They were the difference between the W and L in that game. Robinson was exposed bigly.

Anzalone is good when he plays, but I think his future is short. He has yet to play a full season, right?

I do agree LB needs to be addressed, but for depth rather than starter. I believe Klein is our only FA at the position, so his signing is key here. Even without him we have a hopefully healthy Anzalone and Kiko to pair with the GOAT Davis.

If I'm ranking needs, I do so as the following:

OG
WR
DT
S (Bell most likely getting a big contract)
LB
LT

FA will dictate changes in this of course, but as of now this seems to be the big ones. WR2 is truly our greatest need, but OG is more important of a position thus my ranking highest. Easton did very well in Peat's place, but it is critical we find an upgrade at either G spot and maintain depth. There are always injuries on the OL

Starting LG is a free agent. We have elite tackles and a center. Our guards are FAR from very good/elite. It can be upgraded. We need a mauler like nicks and Evans.
