I mean do you work in a professional setting?

You at least take the meeting, hear their pitch, get a number from them, have Gayle match. Done and done.

Same thing can be said the other way.

You have a top notch employee tell you they want to go interview for another job. You don’t want them to even hear the other pitch. So you tell them to listen to your new offer that is good enough to retain them.

J, if Ireland was GM & paid accordingly, he wouldn’t even be courted, much less accepting an interview.

Loomis is just another Boomer, doing what boomers do. Refusing to GTFO of the way. If Ireland leaves. Saints will go back to:
Fumbling draft picks again.
Handing out lousey contracts LOOMIS, like the Safety from the bills, the running back from the bills, the countless TEs they have tried to replace Graham with, Defensive busts like the DT from Detriot, and the DB from the Seahawks they tried to convert to a boundry corner.

Saints are a sinking ship. Ireland might jump at the right time.

Loomis should just focus on the dumpster fire that is the Hornets.

Ireland wanted to get Brady, but Loomis shunt him down.
Could you imagine 2 Superbowls back to back.

this is a really bad take. Your examples are hindsight only and not what was happening in the moment in time.

Byrd was playing at a very high level when the saints paid him. Nobody could have known the disaster that was going to happen with him.

This. Do not let Ireland out of the door.

That was a total clown show that many Saints fans forget.

Don’t even talk about free agency during that time

Brandon browner was always a boundary corner. Saints just tried to play him in a different system.

Baun sucks and you know it.

When he got on the field when kwon was hurt he was horrible.

Everytime baun gets on the field he is out of position.

Just because ruiz is eating up snaps doesn't make him a good pick.

It just means he was a 1st round pick.

I wouldn't say Baun sucks, but he's obviously not better than Davis/Kwon/Werner/Ellis. He does however provide depth and plays STs, which is fine for a 3rd pick

Ruiz filled in last year as starter when he was not expected to, without a true training camp and 1 less preseason game due to Covid, played out of position and I would say overall did "okay". Year 2 he has definitely looked like shite many times. He also lost his Center game 1, as well as the other 4 members of the OL for different games throughout the season. Not a good season overall for him at all, but there are extenuating circumstances to say the least. As Gyno said, the book should not be closed on him yet

Lawd. I vividly remember rushing to Saints talk and all the excitement when it was tweeted we got him. What a letdown

I blame the stupid jersey collars we had back then

Maybe we should have first rounders Payton Turner and Cesar Ruiz to accompany him on the interview

I heard the Cesar Ruiz pick was a Sean Payton pick

Yeah, baun is fine as a special teams ace and spot starter.

My point was he sucks as a full time linebacker at this point in time.

He would probably do much better in a 3 man front.

As far as ruiz, he is getting beat 1 on 1. At least he is cheap.
