Look I think homefield advantage is great but the 1st rd bye is most important. Going to LA doesn’t really scare me given the weather and so so fan support; however, going to Chicago in January is not good for our SB chances.

Imo we need and SHOULD win 2/3 if we are a legitimate SB contender to secure the bye.

The rams stadium will be loud if they are in the playoffs. I know during the season their fan support doesn’t look heavy but that bandwagon will grow during the playoffs. Weather wouldn’t be bad so that’s a plus but I do think they would have a good crowd come playoffs. I feel like it’s probably an image thing and that place would be packed with celebrities.

I’ll take a bunch of fair weather fans (I’m sure there will plenty of tickets available for Saints fans) plus great weather as opposed to diehard fans (I’m sure Saints ticket availability with be scarce) and terrible weather.

Obviously 1st seed is important but not nearly as important as the bye and forcing potentially the Bears or Cowgirls to come to us.

The Rams are 6-0 at home this year.

We want them, and everyone else we play, in the dome.

In a league where parity rules, home field advantage is huge.

Edit to add: Since 1990 home teams have won nearly 60% of the time in the NFL. Granted teams like the Packers and Steelers benefit the most come playoff time but even a place like LA is no picnic.

Obviously we want home field but the bye is more important. Going to Chicago in January is a death sentence. Going to SoCal in January is not that big of a deal.

Rams HFA was legit for the KC game. They may not have a great advantage every game but they will be up for the playoffs. We could still win there but we def want to be in the dome.

Sean Payton was preaching let them go through the Super Dome. and i think that is the mindset with the Team going forward.

Why do you start stupid threads? You know that the Saints are the #1 seed as of right now dont you? And even if the Bears would of beat the Giants the Saints are pretty much locked in at #2 you don know that right?

Both Rams and Saints lose tie breaker to Bears. they would be one slip up away by Rams and Saints to having the 1 seed or one slip up by either to be the 2 seed. Bears offense is average at best; HOWEVER, they are very well suited to win games in shitty weather. Home field advantage is WAY more important for the Bears’ chances to make the SB.

Like I said, Bears loss against Giants was huge.

What doesn’t make sense to you? The fact that the Bears losing to the Giants made our road to getting a 1st round bye much easier?

Bears are predicated on defense and shitty weather/home field advantage favor the defense. Bears would’ve tie breakers on both Rams and Saints.

Saints have a tough road ahead (tougher than the othe 2). I think 2-1 would be most probable scenario. It’s nice knowing that 1 loss won’t meant we have to go to Chicago to win a playoff game.

When the Bears have the same record as us then get back to me. And im not so sure the Bears have the tiebreaker on us or the Rams.

The path to the superbowl is laid out in front of this team. Win this outdoor away game, handle business at the dome, and your next trip is an hour flight to a indoor stadium that you're very familiar with.

Not sure on whether they have tie breaker on the Rams huh

It’s a little more complicated for us since we didn’t play the Bears but Bears have 2 AFC losses and now 2 NFC losses. We have 2 NFC losses. Conference losses would be the breaker we lose if Bears had beat Giants.

Like I’ve said from the start, having a 1 loss cushion for 1st rd bye is huge. We have a tough schedule going forward if Car and Pitt have shot at playoffs. Beating Car in the 1st meeting would make the 2nd much easier since they would probably shut down an injured Cam.

Explain how the bears would have a tie breaker over the saints when they never played?. I guess Idk how that works.

Given the remaining opponents I believe it would come down to conference win percentage. Currently two of the bears losses are to AFC opponents. Saints have zero losses to AFC teams with only one game remaining. So any combination of remaining games gives the Bears advantage in that tiebreak scenario.

Yes but for the bears to find themselves in a tie with us it would mean that they win the rest of their games (Packers, Niners, and Vikings) and we lose two of three (Panthersx2, Steelers). The Vikings are likely to be playing to get into the wildcard so they are gonna fight like hell.
