Last I heard he's still fat. Smells like cold cuts.

He hasn't looked as bad as some act on here. Hopefully he can be back soon. Made a good play in open field today and would have had a sack if Jordan hadn't beat him to it. Also stood out to me on two run plays tonight

My brother said something about him getting x-rays, but I haven't been able to verify that anywhere. He's going to be listed with a bruised finger tomorrow.

The one good play I remember was him walking his blocker down the field on that reversed and tackling the runner for a 2 yard game. When I saw Smith out there, I was for sure it was going for at least 8. Good play. He still shouldn't be playing linebacker or rushing from the outside imo.

Shouldn't be having to get excited about our starting OLB making a play in space. Plays in space need to be normal he also got smoked on a play over the middle when he dropped Into coverage.

I still like him against the run and rushing the qb. Hopefully RR doesn't put him in position to cover anybody obviously. Still hoping Martez and Gallette will hurry and get healthy but I do still like Smith on our roster, he is valuable depth imo

The play your talking about was set up perfectly and you see good OLBs every week not make that tackle. He made a great play. I agree with you on him in coverage

If he could do that semi-consistently that would help a lot given how thin we are at OLB right now. I just hope he didn't pull his groin making that play.

Bottom line is this will be his last year here and they are tying to make him serviceable so it isn't a dead roster spot.

We have two of the biggest coverage liabilities in the leauge in Harper and Smith.

And what pray tell do you like about him rushing the QB?

Like Patty said, he's virtually ineffective if blocked at all and almost competent when not blocked. Or something like that.

He seemed to be effective while being blocked on the play he got hurt. If Jordan didn't get him Smith would have. He has put some pressure on qbs in all 3 preseason games so far. I would rather have Gallette or Wilson in there but he can still get after the qb and is still pretty decent against the run. He may not always get the sack but he does at least make the qb uncomfortable and have to move out of the pocket alot. Like someone else said,I believe this will be his last year to play also.

They'll probably put him on IR as a favor then get rid of him next season.

I'm sure he's out there over-pursuing somewhere. I heard he missed the locker room door.
