So #5 we would either take Solomon Thomas (DE) from Stanford or Jamal Adams (FS) from LSU, out of this I prefer Adams. It's probably because I watched him for 3 years while he was at LSU and I haven't watched a second of play from Thomas, plus I really like Jamal's attitude and play.

- Jonathan Allen (DE) could also be in play.
- Leonard Fournette (RB)....if you wanted to go there...I love Fournette but I think we have bigger needs at #5

As for the #18 pick would y'all go for Dalvin Cook (RB) at #18? They have him going #19 to Tampa Bay, so I say let's take him. He's a speedy back that can catch and get the tough yards. I think he's the perfect back for our system. I haven't liked Ingram since we drafted him so I would be delighted at the possibility to pick up Cook.

In the most recent mock drafts they have Reuben Foster (LB) dropping from #8/#9 to as far as #22 in the Draft because of his problems at the Combine. So he could also be at play late in the first.

A Adams/Foster or an Adams/Cook package would make me very happy.

What other situations could y'all see unfolding?

I cannot see any scenario whereby we end up with both the #5 and another 1st. Tenn will not give up that much for Cooks.

We would give up our #11 pick and maybe a 3rd rounder?? I could see it happening

handful of good CB's at 18 and never know if John Ross is sitting there.

I also think marshon lattimore could be a 5 target in this dream world.

I give you points for being honest, but this is a dumb arse mindset if you base your draft hopes on the Saints picking up as much LSU players as possible.

No. No. No. We are not spending a first round pick at RB. Stop.

It's baffling that the defense is as bad as it is and so many people want to draft a running back in the first round. Y'all play too much madden

Why? Was it the fact that during 2016 he rushed/received for 1,362 yards and scored 10 touchdowns? Was it his career high 5.1 yards per carry average or first 1000+ yards rushing season?

And outside of fournette, there really isn't a RB worth taking at #11 or #18 IMO.

Lattimore might be a stud and i'd think MT13 can give this front office decent insight as well.

I honestly just don't believe he is a good NFL Back, if I thought he was good I wouldn't feel the way I do toward him. I think we are wasting our time with him and I believe that we need to start looking at different options.

That's very true, we need a major defensive overhaul this draft. I'm not for the Saints drafting every Alabama player with a pulse but I really wanted Reuben Foster at #11 before he got bumped up to #9.

See my edit. Mark Ingram averaged 5.1 yards per carry this season, making him top 5 in that category. He finished 19th in rushing attempts. If he finished just 10th in attempts, he'd have 1,300 yards rushing.

Even still, Ingram had 1,362 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns. In a pass-happy offense, these numbers are just fine. Ingram IS a good NFL back. He's not great but he's a serviceable, above average back. He isn't a distraction, doesn't cause trouble in the locker room, doesn't embarrass the team in off-field nonsense and shows up and does his job. Your hatred of him is not validated.

There were 19 RB's with at least 200 carries this year. The ones that posted a higher YPC than Ingram?

Jordan Howard
Lesean McCoy

Zeke and Ingram tied at 5.1

You have to use both first rounds picks on defense. Taking a running back wouldn't make this team better.

Thomas with the #5, then some combination of:

Tre White at #18 and Hightower as the free agent splash OR

Foster at #18 (I don't care that he yelled at Gaylord Focker, he can play) and Bouye in FA.
