And of course, Marcus WIlliams didn't lose the game

But a part of me can't shake it off nor avoid focusing on whatever the frick MW did . A missed tackle is one thing. A whiffed tackle is one thing. Stiffed arm, pushed down by the WR, whatever.

But what in the ever living frick was that...that pic of Diggs airborne with Williams looking down makes me sick lmfao. Flukes happen and the other teams make a play, I get it. But that?? Maybe in 24 hours I can stop harping on the dude. But his play on that ball was comical. Laughably awful, really. I think that's why this stings so much. This isn't your usual poor DB play on the ball. This was an all-time derp.

This was definitely painful. Simple football 101. Keep your eyes on your target and wrap up!! But this game was lost in the first half. Point Blank!!

Gonna sting for a long time. That “tackle attempt” was terrible under any circumstance. What makes it worse for me is that he’s not an awful player. It’s like he just blacked out or something. He had one job...

I mean we didn’t do ourselves any favors with first half performance I’ll agree there, but we got off our arse and climbed that mountain. Came back 2nd half after adjustments and played lights out, their D couldn’t stop us.

And then all of that taken away by one of the worst attempts at a tackle the game has seen.

That’s tough, man. TUFF

Yes he lost the game because we had won it.

No doubt, inexplicable! He knows it. Nobody feels worse than Marcus. I guarantee you he makes that play 19 out of 20 times. It’s just one of those weird moments that happen in sports like Buckner, Bart Man, and many others. I feel much better this morning after realizing this team has a very bright future and Marcus is a big part of it!

No, Marcus Williams LOST the game. We came back from 17 down then overcame their late field goal, then Marcus Williams LOST the game.

The ironic part is that if he had kept his head up, the Vikings receiver was so high, that all he had to do was clip his legs and he falls helplessly to the turf and time expires.

Ordinarily I would agree with the concept that no one person is to blame for the loss.

But the Saints had overcome all their previous mistakes, to the point where the game was virtually won. There was literally only one thing left to do, make a tackle. And the person assigned to make that tackle was in position to do just that.

Thus, sadly, the loss hangs on Williams. I hate that the blame is on one guy. But, it simply is.

Why is the offense getting away with not converting on 3rd and short? If our great offense gets the first down, the game is over. He blew the play, but he's a stud. We should support him right now.

Meh. Second half was great but We had to come down from 17 because the offense couldn't move the ball, turned it over twice, and consistently put the defense in short field position.

Not to mention the sack right before half. Was a killer.

But we were up with 10 seconds left to go, then a defender closed his eyes and ducked and cost us the game.

I was hoping they would go for two at the end with the saints only having six men on the field. Then fumble and have Morestead run it back for a TD. That would have been an ending. Lol
(We put the most random assortment back on the field)

this

We play even mediocre football in that first 30 minutes, we're on the plane to Philly and the final play wouldn't have mattered in a 10 or 17 point Saints victory

We didn't play good enough the other 59:50... Best way to win close games is to win them by 20
