53 Man Roster For Week 4
We have 54 guys if you count Snead, so 1 of these guys will be cut before the Dolphins game. It will probably be Justin Hardee if Lattimore & Sterling Moore can play. If not, then CSP might have to take a chance & cut Austin Carr or Taysom Hill. We need everyone else right now due to injuries. Maybe even John Kuhn if CSP wants to be a dick.

QB - Basically in the same situation that we're always in.
-Drew Brees - 867 yards, 68.5%, 6 TD's, 109.7 QB rating.
-Chase Daniel - Hopefully he stays on the sideline for the sake of the Saints.
-Taysom Hill - CSP must like his potential. Surprised he's still on the roster.

RB - They're good as long as the O-Line blocks good.
-Mark Ingram - 125 yards, 4.5 average. 11 catches, 108 yards. Still in his prime & still under-appreciated.
-Adrian Peterson - 77 yards, 3.3 average. 2 catches, 4 yards. He looked better vs. Carolina imo. He'll have a big run eventually.
-Alvin Kamara - 58 yards, 5.8 average, 1 TD. 10 catches, 76 yards. Natural pass catcher(makes it look easy).
-Trey Edmunds - Needed for special teams.
-John Kuhn - Probably on & off the roster all year, depending on the defense we face. Underrated hands out of the backfield.

WR - They look good so far & should be better with the addition of Snead. 3 posession WR's that can block & 2 deep threat burners.
-Micheal Thomas - 17 catches, 221 yards, 1 TD, 13 1st downs.
-Willie Snead - Not sure what his production will be this week, but we can use his blocking.
-Ted Ginn - 9 catches, 121 yards, 1 TD, 6 1st downs. Good in the running game. Looks like our best punt returner.
-Brandon Coleman - 7 catches, 106 yards, 2 TD's, 5 1st downs. Looks like he might finally be coming into his own.
-Tommylee Lewis - 6 catches, 83 yards, 3 1st downs. Big play waiting to happen(like Ginn & Kamara).
-Austin Carr - Not sure what Snead's return means for him.

TE - Not a strength, but not a weakness. Very average.
-Coby Fleener - 9 catches, 108 yards, 2 TD's, 6 1st downs.
-Josh Hill - 4 catches, 32 yards. Solid backup.
-Hooman - Got more playing time than Fleener last week, but that should change now that Kuhn is back. Our best blocking TE.

OL - Probably the same starters as last week. Peat, Kelemete, Unger, Warford, Ramczyk.
-Terron Armstead - Probably backs up Peat at LT this week.
-Max Unger - Doing his usual thing.
-Zach Strief - Probably backs up Ramczyk at RT this week.
-Larry Warford - Looked great in week 3.
-Andrus Peat - His versatility is valuable.
-Ryan Ramczyk - So far so good.
-Senio Kelemete - Solid spot starter at LG.
-Josh LeRibeus - He's been our 6th O-Lineman on power running plays. Can play LG, OC, & RG as well.

K
-Will Lutz - Looks great for a 2nd year kicker. It's nice to be in FG range when you're on the 50 yard line.

P
-Thomas Morstead - Doing his usual thing.

LS
-Zach Wood - Hasn't screwed up yet.

DT - Doing good against the run. They get help from Okafor & Hendrickson when they slide inside on passing downs.
-Sheldon Rankins - His only stats are 2 tackles. Not sure what to think here. Needs to get to the QB better.
-Tyeler Davison - 7 tackles. Great in run support. That's his job.
-David Onyemata - 6 tackles. Still developing in his 2nd year. Decent rotational guy at this point.
-Kendall Langford - Probably stays for depth purposes at DT.

DE - They've actually done a good job as a group.
-Cam Jordan - 15 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 PBU(pass break up). Same story with him.
-Alex Okafor - 14 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF. Solid against the run & slides inside when Kikaha comes in. Solid player for a cheap price.
-Hau'oli Kikaha - 2 sacks as a situational pass rusher.
-Trey Hendrickson - 5 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF. He can play DE & DT. Showing promise so far.
-Al-Quadin Muhammad - Probably won't be active unless Kikaha gets hurt or starts sucking.

LB - Our talent here is average at best, but Nolan gets the most out of them. We're lucky to have Nolan.
-AJ Klein - 19 tackles, 1 FF, 1 PBU. Great find. QB of the defense.
-Manti Te'o - 14 tackles. Solid player in run support for his cheap salary.
-Alex Anzalone - 15 tackles, 1 sack, 1 PBU. He got punked against NE, but played good against Minn. & Car. Not bad for a rookie.
-Craig Robertson - Great to have as a backup. Special teams captain.
-Nate Stupar - Legit spot starter & good on special teams. Still dealing with an injury though.
-Ben Heeney - Starter in Oakland. Should play some special teams & we need him for depth due to Stupar's nagging injury.

CB - Just need to stay healthy for once.
-Marshon Lattimore - 11 tackles, 2 PBU. Easily our best CB so far. Teams are already avoiding him.
-PJ Williams - 21 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBU. He's looked good, besides the Vikings game when we ran a zone. Can play inside & outside.
-Ken Crawley - He had 9 tackles, 2 PBU & pretty good coverage in his only game played. Newton bailed him out a little though.
-Sterling Moore - Respectable backup CB if healthy. Can play inside & outside.
-DeVante Harris - I can't stand this guy. Hopefully he's cut when Breaux comes back.
-Justin Hardee - Just a matter of time until he's cut.

S - They've gotten better each week. Week 1 was pathetic.
-Kenny Vaccaro - 16 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBU. Bad in weeks 1 & 2. Much better week 3. Needs to stay within 20 yards of the LOS.
-Marcus Williams - 12 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU. Started slow, but looked good in week 3. He's our only pure free safety.
-Vonn Bell - 9 tackles. Thankfully we don't need him to start, but he's a decent backup in his 2nd year. Legit vs. the run.
-Rafael Bush - Similar to Bell imo, but can't get on the field with younger guys ahead of him. Kind of a good problem for us to have.
-Chris Banjo - Looks like our best special teams cover guy. Like by a wide margin.

The only holes on the roster that I see are O-Line depth(which should improve after the BYE week), CB depth due to injuries, & I guess we could use another legit guy at DT(I bet the coaches were pissed when they had to IR David Parry after playing in 1 game). Hopefully Langford is that guy. If he's not, we'll probably keep bringing in guys until we find someone.

I like our chances against the Dolphins if the O-Line shows up & if we run man-to-man most of the time. Hopefully we learned our lesson from the Vikings game.

Second game as a pro and had to cover Gronk with no pass rush help. I think he gets a pass.

Can actually be better than average after they learn each other. They are all new. Don't agree it's a lack of talent.

I agree. I'm more than happy with his play so far. Just stating the facts. He's looking like a damn good value pick in the 3rd round so far.

I'm not saying that they aren't good LB's. Just saying that as a whole...their athleticism isn't on par with some of the better LB units around the league. The do seem to be smart & have really good instincts though. They all hit pretty damn hard as well.

They're basically the opposite of Stephone Anthony.

With Brees now with 3 targets he truly trusts (Thomas, Snead, and Ingram), we should improve from that atrocious 40.0%.

We've led the league since 2014 FWIW, all 47%+

That could have made the difference in the game vs Minnesota with snead. Would have definitely made it closer vs both of them though.

I hope AP gets some big plays soon. Kamara is a big play waiting to happen. Ingram looks his best.
Hopefully we keep that running game rolling this week.

I may be a hair naive but man those first three at CB playing together has me excited.

Crawley is getting after it with a chip on his shoulder. If we shore up the back in, a pass rush will develop.

As the Macho Man Randy Savage once said, the cream will rise to the top.

This defense will take it to the next level if Rankins kicks it into 2nd gear. He's always good for a big play or 2, but he's been disappearing for large portions of the game. I realize he's only in his 2nd year, but we need to get more out of him.

Starting to look like Armstead won't be active on Sunday. Looking good for Strief & Lattimore though.
LINK

Left tackle Terron Armstead (shoulder) appeared to be doing his same regimen as Wednesday, dressing for practice but not actually participating.

Wide receiver Willie Snead (suspension) was dressed, but did not work with the team during the portion open to the media, instead practicing on an adjacent field.

Right tackle Zach Strief (knee) and cornerback Marshon Lattimore (concussion) were on the field for a second day in a row.

Thanks GMoney.

Not a lot of room to cut.

Disappointed in Sheldon Rankins so far this year.

Klein ran down Dalvin Cook from behind to save a touchdown and Anzalone appears to be faster than Anthony when I watch him play.

Agreed.

I'd like to see him get the ball in his hands more.
