If we really like em, I'd do it in 4th. I'd go haener or McKee over him

I don’t claim “insider sources” but I’ve heard and others have that the Saints really like DTR. Apparently it’s a very poorly kept secret.

UCLA QB. Saints allegedly really like him. They not only went out to see him in Cali they had him in for a private at the facility.

Okay yeah I remember him now. Wouldn’t be a bad late round pick. I’ll also add that as much of a chode as he is I wouldn’t mind a 7th round flyer on Stetson if he’s still there.

Saints won’t leave this draft without adding a DB

Ringo, Phillips III, Rush, Mitchell at CB

I like JL Skinner, Jammie Robinson, Chris Smith as ballhawk type S.

100% agree. They almost always take a DB. They will get a S or hybrid. It’s a big position of need.

I think they also address OL and LB at some point.

Jarring lack of depth at

S
LB
TE
WR

Safety: Kelee Ringo would be an enticing name who has the size and instincts to move to safety. I would also consider the same with a guy like Mehki Garner.

LB: Nick Herbig is kind of that Kaden Ellis type tweener. May be more of an edge than Ellis was, who was more of a tradtional LB.

TE: likely missed their mark to get a true impact guy at TE, as 9 already off the board. Zach Kuntz could be a guy to keep an eye on as a project pick here in the 4th RD.

WR: Charlie Jones is a guy I like to play the Renfrow role that Carr had some success with in LAV. Jones is much better after the catch and can stretch the field a little more. Lacks NFL frame but this is a small WR class all together.

All that said, the best value may lie in the OL.

Positions of need IMO: safety and guard. There are some TEs with size and speed, but S and G are a bigger need.

I don’t think that we have any more needs. More of wants. We may need to fill some depth but that can be done post draft if needed. You are not passing on a better player at another position just to draft a guard or safety. And let’s be honest we are not counting on a day3 pick to start this year. Would be great if we nailed a gem on day 3 that can start day 1 but it isn’t likely.

I agree. I'd draft best player regardless of position from here out.
