27th pick - good recent history of quality players

Last time we had 27, we traded up for Brandin Cooks.
When we kept 27, we took Robert Meachem.
But here are the last 10 "27th" picks in the NFL
2008: Antoine Cason - 7 years in the league, average CB
2009: Donald Brown - 7 years in the league, below average RB.
2010: Devin McCourty - 8 years in the league, currently playing. 2x pro bowl, 3x all pro. Arguably a top 10 safety
2011: Jimmy Smith - 7 years in the league, currently playing. Arguably a top 10 cornerback.
2012: Kevin Zeitler - 6 years in the league, currently playing. Arguably a top 10 guard.
2013: DeAndre Hopkins - 5 years in the league, currently playing. 2x pro bowl, 2x all pro Arguably a top 5 Wide Receiver.
2014: Deone Buchannon - 4 years in the league, currently playing. Average LB/S hybrid
2015: Byron Jones - 3 years in the league, currently playing. Average S, DB
2016: Kenny Clark - 2 years in the league, currently playing. Top 5 NT, arguably top 15 DT
2017: Tre'Davious White - 1 year in the league, currently playing. Arguably top 10 cornerback

I expect them to somewhat borrow on the future this off season; don't expect them to stay there. It's the time to do it if ever with Drew.
That's without knowing anything about this draft class really.

if he had a healthy quality QB for an entire season. Most certainly top 5 WR.

He’s already considered a top 5. He was named 1st team All-Pro.

No arguably about it. He’s easily top 3.
IMO it’s AB then him and if he had consistent qb play it’d be a lot closer.

He's right there with OBJ who I think is the 3rd best WR

Yeah I think he’s 3rd.
I like Hopkins better because he just goes about his business regardless of what’s going on with his team or opponent. I like them both better than Julio because he always seems to be banged up and tends to disappear a lot for a guy if his talents.
I think our boy Mike is right behind that tier with guys like AJ Green.

I hope not considering how terribly that worked out last time they tried that and how much this years success is attributed to the draft class. They already lost a pick to the Kamara trade, need to keep what we have or somehow acquire more and hope Ireland can nail even half a class like he just did. We’re close to having an elite defense and a few more players could do that especially in the front seven.
They have an opportunity to improve the team while Drew is still here and set the team up for success once he leaves.

Kind of misleading huh? He was projected to go much higher until the combine and he tore up the hotel room and $hit all over the room.

How so? Talented players who are projected top 5 or 10 talent or even 1st round talent fall all of the time due to off field issues.
Marcus Peters, Laremy Tunsil, Robert Nkemdiche, Tyrann Mathieu, Tyreek Hill, Joe Mixon.
That's just within the last few years

My hope is Smith will drop due to some weed concerns
