I think he projects as a possible center but it wouldn't be his strong suit.

He only played T and G in college but most experts agree anyone that can play guard can play C.

quote:

Strengths
Very good size. Has sheer mass to lean, wall off or cover up defenders. Solid base in pass protection -- gets his hands on rushers, anchors and slides to fan pressure. Effective short puller. Durable three-year starter. Has played guard and tackle. Smart and dependable.

Weaknesses
Average hip snap. Does not roll off the ball and overpower defenders. Stiff, lumbering movement. Needs to improve contact balance, particularly on the move. Tends to get out over his skis and slip off blocks. Could struggle to corral quicker interior defenders -- lacks ideal athleticism, lateral suddenness and recovery ability.

Draft Projection
Rounds 2-3

Bottom Line
Big, physical, smart, serviceable offensive guard who will not score many style points, but generally gets the job done. Has starter-caliber ability and fits best in a power scheme that takes advantage of his size and pulling ability.

So no more Centers or Wide Receivers really, so best player available at this point? Any really good linebackers left?

I was sweating the GB pick. Went Bradford instead. Wouldn't have minded him but not my guy.

This... although Desir seems unlikely with SJB already locked in.

I'd like Desir, but I think if we go D we go with a linebacker. Offensive line is pretty likely here too

Pissed about Bradford btw - dude was a beast @ Arizona St and can play multiple 3-4 positions

I think we'll see a LB or a guard here if it isn't Murray.

I like him but his size is about maxed at 217 lbs. Tiny for a LB and he fits rover better. We have Vaccaro, Bush, and Ball for that role.

Rather Jones because he's more versatile, but Bradford would have been nice.
