2-2 with Brees and should've lost Houston 5-0 with Bridgewater

Think it's time for the Brees era to be over. Dating back to last season he has significantly declined. We lost the Rams game in the playoffs not because of bad refs but because Brees couldn't perform simple passes in that game. The skipping balls to MT would've been a TD right before that blatant PI. He's a headcase. Any kind of pressure gets to him he shits the bed the rest of the game even when pressure isn't coming. He had wide open WRs all game but he was making the wrong pre-snap reads in this game. On one of the last possessions before the game was sealed and he held the ball getting sacked Ginn was running wide open down the sideline for possibly a TD. Go back and look at the WR routes. It was Brees and yes, the oline sucked but he was still holding the ball too long.

The team responds better with Bridgewater. They're a better team with him. Brees is done. Time for the Bridgewater era to start now since he'll be the starter come next season anyway. Thanks for your service Brees but all good things must come to an end.

Did you even watch the games with Bridgewater? The team carried his arse to at least three of those wins. Honestly, four.

Brees certainly isn't the player he once was, but he's still the better option right now. Teddy has better mobility and a stronger arm but Brees is better at everything else.

The main reasons we were undefeated with Teddy was special teams and defense.

And for you to use the rams game against Brees's starting record is laughable. Teddy played three quarters of that game.

Well, at least with Bridgewater when he gets sacked he doesn't shite the bed in the pocket thinking he's always going to be hit even when pressure isn't coming. They play harder with Bridgewater and he was also improving every game.

Brees has 0 clutch gene in him. You hit him a few times in a game and he presses badly forcing passes. This is a prime example. Hit a few times early, makes the bad pre-snap reads, forces ducks with WR routes still wide open he's just not seeing them.

Why weren't you saying that after the last game?

Some of the dumbest shite I have ever read on this forum.

Yeah pretty convinced he's trolling. Clutch gene. Straight out of the skip bayless playbook. You're an idiot if you actually think that.

And if you're on here to troll people cause that's what you do with your time, you're possibly an even bigger idiot.

What do you mean should have lost Houston?

Freaking idiot. Brees is the reason they won that game.

The Saints earned that win.

They're not winning a SB with Brees. He doesn't have it in him anymore. Bridgewater still has a ceiling to get much better and he was definitely getting much better by the time they benched him for Brees. He's your future QB anyway so it's best to see where he can take you before his contract is done this season anyway. Need to know if he's the real future for the Saints or not. Brees has no ceiling here anymore and is on heavy decline even if he might be the better option over Bridgewater right now. Time to build for the future now while they still have a good team.

He's an idiot why? Nothing he said was incorrect. It was all factual outside of his opinion that it's time for Drew to be replaced.

Some of y'all are like those parents that don't want to believe that their kid is a drug addict or that their parents are dying. Some of y'all are in denial.

I'm not agreeing with the OP that it's time for Drew to be replaced but he's definitely lost a step and can't push the ball downfield like he used to and he doesn't look as sharp. He has good games and bad games and is very inconsistent.

That's the point. The team steps up when Teddy is in the game and they win. The team steps back when Drew takes over. They become so reliant on Drew running the show that they all relax too much when he's in there. They expect heroics from the guy. They're playing with a living legend. That's going to cause young guys to play the beta role when they should be being individual Alphas.

Has absolutely nothing to do with starting Bridgewater over Brees and everything to do with player motivation.

That's exactly the point I was making. Also, nobody can deny Bridgewater was improving every game. He shredded a good defense in Chicago. He also was a Pro Bowl QB before his injury that arguably had close to an All-Pro season. He has plenty of ceiling to get back to that level. Brees has nowhere to go but down and it's only going to get harder on him this season as he plays tougher teams and his body wears more. Brees is the reason we got nowhere last year or at least a big reason why. His performance the last half of the season was mediocre at best. Went from guaranteed MVP to nowhere in the talks anymore.

You're both right and wrong in the single statement. You're right that it's about player motivation and my point is that, that is directly link to who the starting quarterback is. These players seem to play harder and step up their game when Teddy is in there because they know he's not a world-beater that's going to carry the team on his shoulders. That makes the whole team play better. The same could be said for the play calling. It challenges Sean to call a better game and play it a little safer which has produced better results. Sean has said this himself when asked about the play calling with Teddy in there. Which is why I don't understand why this is considered such an outrageous take.

Look, we all love Drew and what he's done but some of y'all are married to the guy and can't admit that he's slipping a little.

Can the two idiots trumpeting this idea of benching Brees tell me the game when Teddy played where there were 3 drops (2 on plays that would have resulted in 1st down), and when the defense had 4 illegal hand to the face penalties and two holding calls. How about the game that our OL jumped offsides twice AT HOME.

The simple fact is that this was a god awful performance from the top down. No one needs to waste their time reading this thread anymore.

1) you dumb
2) Taysom is the better “option” than Teddy if you want to make a deep run
