He looks to be in better shape and even has a personal chef who attended the event Saturday as well. That’s a good sign of Williamson’s commitment to doing the things it takes to maximize his full potential.

Good.

Shaq made a point over the years of how having a guy like that to keep him in shape was a huge deal.

OTOH, Shaq’s old teammate Stanley Roberts ate like shite and got too heavy, which contributed to a lot of his injuries over the years.

Chalky is 1000% right, crazy it took 3 years to finally get to this point.

If this is a legit personal chef though, open the checkbook in my opinion. He has shown the buy-in, I’m sold on him wanting to be apart of what we have fully. Watching him on the sideline every game then hearing CJ talk about helping him, if you aren’t on the Zion train again what’s holding you back?

As someone who grew up in southern Louisiana, and then moved away for a significant amount of time, I can say that the dietary challenges there are very, very difficult - particularly New Orleans, where Zion could probably walk into any restaurant and sample the evening's piece de resistance. It's really a horrible place for a professional athlete to live, and you have to move away to see that. It took me years just to get accustomed to being away. In the early years of our moving away, we'd sit around after flying in putting hot sauce on Zapp's chips as we put crawfish and sausage in the freezer. Finally, got used to the limited choices, but the change is significant.

Zion seems to be turning a corner in terms of responsibility and buy-in

A good reminder that Zion is 21.

Almost everyone on this forum was almost assuredly doing some dumb, immature shite still at 21 and would look back at that age and think, you know, wish I had figured that one or two things out a bit sooner.

Most of America lives off fast food and chain dining spots. When I leave New Orleans I thank god I don’t live in a suburb where my only dining choices are Chilis or Outback.

If you have money in New Orleans, there are many fine dining establishments where you can get fresh seafood or fine meats cooked healthy but with flavor.

We will see but i don't think Zion can do more of 65 games each season.
Probably he will be in Embiids or Kawhi situation.

This is news? Zion has HAD a personal chef this entire time. His name is Ronald McDonald.

But is the personal chef going to be working in conjunction with the team to make sure he eats right?

Or will he just be cooking what Zion wants?

Huge difference.

Healthy people who are very serious about their nutrition/diet/body simply don’t go to restaurants.

That’s “food as entertainment” culture.

There’s a reason fighters/body builders/athletes meal prep

There was a story Zion’s rookie season about him having a professional chef, I guess he wasn’t a fan.
