I can see Draymond giving Zion some problems. But you could tell the Greek Freak played him the best so far.

Another thing about Zion is, this kid is probably going to gain a little more height. Giannis grew 3+ inches since being drafted. It's not unrealistic to think he can be 6'7-6'8. I do think his shorter frame is a part of his dominance, though. It's like when tall O-linemen have to block a 6'0-6'1 DT who can get up in their chest. But adding another inch or two would still have him as undersized height wise, while also making finishing at the rim even easier. He isn't in his man body yet where you get that extra strength and he still has his way with whoever

He's also going to get stronger too. Look at LeBron, he came into the league with an NBA ready body and put on 20ish more pounds. Zion may not gain more weight because they'll focus on that, but he'll gain more strength.

Credit is due to Alvin Gentry, head coach of one of the fastest-paced teams in the league, for understanding the folly of slowing the game down to post up.

But Barkley couldn't jump. I like the Shawn Kemp and Larry Johnson comps better, but there's just not a good comp for Zion.

I don’t like the Kemp comparison at all, tbh.

Barkley is a decent comp, Peak LJ, a dash of Blake and Dray.

Back in the day an Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniel, Horace Grant, Rodman, etc. There were a number of guys that were outstanding defenders in the post either due to size, skill, strength, or speed or a combo. These guys don’t really exist in the NBA anymore. I agree with someone else said, Zion May force teams to bring this type of player back into the league, as the euro style big can’t guard him.

Unless they start recruiting football players, there is not a player in the league near as athletic and strong as Zion. Typically those guys are lining up to rush the passer or catch passes on Sun.

He will be a 5+ APG guy one they really let him get involved as a point forward.

Pels can do a lot of things with Zion at the high post. His passing is that good.

Haha this is true. Zion is an NFL lineman. The nba doesn’t consist of those type of player’s whatsoever.

But you can bet a 90s era PF or Center would have a much better chance against him than the ones today that rarely guard post ups

considering he'd just pull them out and blow past them, nope

take the ultimate "post defender" ben wallace. he was literally exposed in the 2002 World Games. those games were a major inflection point in the development of the NBA into the neo-NBA that we see today

Griffin specifically said after we drafted him that the doctors have said his growth plates are still open.

While I think Zion is partly responsible for this. It’s hard to deny that Giannis has played a part too. Both dudes, in the current NBA landscape, are basically unguardable.

Barkley is a great comparison for him. But Zion is a little bigger, both in weight and height, with even more explosion. I also think Zion will end up with better handles than Sir Charles too.

That’s what’s insane.

Basically Zion is a taller, left handed Barkley on steroids.
