Per Andrew Lopez.

The hope is everyone else, including BI will play tonight

Of course the moment we get BI back, Zion is out.

Ultimately, all I care is that we have our entire rotation healthy and ready to roll against Brooklyn.

Agreed and yeah it sucks because we need to work Zion and BI minutes. Hopefully everything is precautionary.

Whoever expected Zion to play tonight should have their head examined.

Zion not playing tonight is great news on the whole. Last time he played in a final preseason game, he tore a meniscus. The “sprained ankle” is a blessing tbh. Saves him from some ridiculous injury right before the season.

Yeah I imagine he’s got some soreness and if it were a serious game he’d play. Probably just told him to go do some treatment every day and be ready to roll next week.

He’s still listed Day to day so I wouldn’t worry that much

That's a big bummer. Was really hoping to see Zion play when they announced they were playing in Birmingham.

Would have been nice to have all the starters on the court at the same time for at least a few games. Gotta get the chemistry going.

Got 100 plus games with real Consequences to get the chemistry going.

We will be fine. Can’t blame Zion. BI missed 4 games lol. Can’t blame BI either, man carried us last year.

It will be all good. It’s only a little bit sad for those people at the game in Birmingham.

you seem to think the last preseason game is special.
its not.
and btw zion has an interesting injury already.
its similar to curry.
curry had to strengthen his hips before it stopped happening.
he missed a lot of games and got a low ball deal first extention which made the first couple championships possible (buying a good veteran bench).

while we are told its "day to day" short term its possible this is curry #2 long term and it may be a season or two before he and trainers and md figure it out so its not repeating.

ps there's no special day that's worse luck. every day is the same.

I’m just saying, the last time he played in a final preseason game, he got something worse than a sprained ankle and missed 44 games. It’s worth noting. And it’s why I was A okay that he didn’t play last night. He played 4 preseason games. He practices. He’s a bit rusty, but we don’t need the guy to be perfectly in sync in week 1 of a long season. It’s not like he’s never played with Ingram before.

I hear the ankle thing you are talking about, but to my knowledge, Zion doesn’t have weak ankles. I think this is like his 2nd ankle sprain of his career and the other one also resulted in 1 missed game. Sprained ankles are going to occasionally happen when you drive the basket 20 times a game.

Kevin Durant should sit out game five of the finals if he ever gets there.
