It's ok if he's sending a double, it's retarded to not help and let AD shoot an open 3.

Absolutely baffling. Maybe to confuse Lebron and make him overconfident?

I mean, we really don't have anyone that can guard him.

Why Zion isn't coming to help with 2 on the shot clock there I'll never know

Jrue didn't do a bad job. Bron isn't killing us, AD is. AD eating up boards and keeping the ball alive on offensive possessions.

Do you have a better way to stop the 260 pound freight train who might be the greatest basketball player to ever live?

Help defense

You rather Lebron shoot an easy layup or AD a 3?

Dont get me wrong Jrue is a great defender, but cmon, tired of him having to guard superstars (Bron, KD, Giannis, etc.) that are 4 inches or more taller and/or 30+ pounds heavier than him.
Its so counterproductive to our team defense and rebounding. Opposing Player still puts up his numbers or more, grabs a few more rebounds (off. especially) that are a direct result of being taller than Jrue.
Also, the problem is magnified bc help defense on Jrue ends up causing wide open looks for 3.
And, with Jrue on the likes of a Bron, KD, Giannis type, the player he should be guarding tends to go off as well.

This coaching staff of putting Jrue on a team's superstar who is several inches taller than has not worked once in a game. Gentry kills me with this nonsense.

So, KCP and Danny Green have a good game bc Jrue is not guarding them! And Bron still gets 40! Unacceptable. Whats more is that u dont switch up to Ingram's length or Zion's strength or Josh Hart's tenacity to give Bron a different look on Defense? Stupid.

The final problem with this philosophy is that you tire out Jrue to perform in the 4th quarter as well. So, he misses shots that he could make but for being tired maybe and if he's not, the other player defense on Jrue causes him problems on the offensive side as well bc Jrue will get in the lane but then try to pass bc he is conscious of a block by the defender and it ends up a turnover!!

This is the exact scenario why I wanted the Pels to make a trade for a taller, perimeter defender than can somewhat guard the likes of that type of superstar. For the Pels to be serious contenders in the future, they are going to have to get someone of that caliber.

Jrue on the Bron types ensures mismatches and overall poor team defense.

I mean we have someone that has the tools to be that guy, he just needs to get serious and focus on it: Ingram.

He has solid speed and has a 7’3” wingspan with a frame that can get bigger. And that’s the rub, he needs to start taking his nutrition and the weight room more seriously. I’ll at least give credit to AD there, he put in the work and now has the size to play with anyone(even if he is too mentally weak to do it).

It’d be nice to get another true wing defender with size, but between Ingram, and hopefully Zion eventually, we should have the personnel on our current roster to match up. And if Ingram really wants to be a max player and superstar, defense is the next area he needs to make a leap in.

Shouldn't Zion be quick enough to slow LBJ at his age? I wouldnt expect him to guard a prime James but he has lost a step. Zion's strength and athleticism seems like it would be our best bet right now.
That said, I dont think we have any 1 player that can. LBJ is an all time great. Gotta play smart team D

Zion is still pretty sloe and flat footed defensively. LeBron would have gotten whatever he wanted with ease

Also for those saying but BI on him, LeBron would have posted him up even easier. BI doesn't have the strength and will to defense the post up like Jrue has.

Hart was/is the most capable defender on LeBron. Ideally, we have jrue guard him with better/any help defense

So i guess you all went to bed before Jrue stopped Lebron one on one in the post 3 times in a row.

I don’t mind Jrue guarding anyone one on one in the league.

That being said, we need to draft a 6’8” SF for the future. Saddiq Bey.

I saw it, but that just doesn't cancel out the countless times lebron got to him during the game prior.

This isn't Jrue's fault at all, though, unless he specifically told Uncle Al that he doesn't want help defense (which wouldn't shock me since Jrue's so competitive)

Jrue is obviously a very good and willing defender. We give him props for that. I respect him being willing to battle and fight. That said, to pretend LBJ didnt have a great game is to be intentionally dense.

Jrue is too small for LBJ. BI is too thin. Perhaps Zion is too "slow-footed". It isnt a rare thing to not have 1 individual that can get the best of LBJ.

Against studs like LBJ, you gotta have good team D. It takes everyone working together. We dont have that just yet.

Now that we have played them with all of our guys, perhaps we make some adjustments when they visit NO. It will be interesting to see from a strategy standpoint

So do you think it was Jrues idea to go under every screen, most of them moving screens, which also led to him going 5-11 from 3 and give him a running start into the lane?

No one on the planet can stop lebron if you give him a running start into the lane. We had a stupid game plan for him on the perimeter.

I’ve been saying for a while BI is a SG, not a SF. More proof shown tonight. We still need a true SF. And I think we still need to decide between Lonzo and Jrue for the future.

I literally just said I don't think this is Jrue's fault at all
