Butler is quitting on the court, he's done this before. I don't know how Miami can keep playing him while he is openly tanking their season. Yesterday's game was pretty egregious.

Jimmy just wants his money. Crazy what players will do when it comes to their contracts.
He only has a player option for 51 mil left for next season.

SXM morning show thinks there’s nobody that will give up anything for Jimmy. Skal said on their team plane last night the players were taking Miami’s side and blaming Jimmy because he’s done this everywhere

Miami just suspended him for 7 games.

And it's due to conduct detrimental to the team. So it's no pay either and will cost him 3.2 mil

They can’t play him, looking to trade him now. Might as well try to claw back money. And I’m sure they have decent chance at at least some of it.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Looks like Memphis maybe making a push. Anything interesting that we could get throwing BI into there?

Probably Marcus Smart and Brandon Clarke, both of whom I like and would be great off the bench. But that’s a good deal of money tied up.

I really like Santi Aldama and Conchar.

Dumb question..
How can the Heat be his next team, when he plays for them. Does that mean he just isn't traded?

They're betting on teams not having the cap in the offseason to pay him more than what Miami is willing to offer him and so he would essentially
have to sign with Miami because they can offer him the most money when he hits the market and they will not entertain a sign and trade.

He has a player option for next year and no way is he turning down the $50+ million for next year. If he’s not traded, he stays on the Heat.

Yea, that's the bet Miami is making. But Butler doesn't wait until because this is his last chance at a big contract and Miami isnt going to give it to him. Hence him and his group going nuclear and requesting a trade. He's not planning to play out the last year of his contract.

Beal and Nurkic are being benched in Phoenix. Rumors are Suns are trying to push Beal to wave his NTC, but I don’t see who would even want that contract
Posted on 1/6/25 at 7:24 am to Soggymoss
Supposedly Beal already said he would waive it for Miami. But of course Miami wants nothing to do with it. There’s just no way a team takes him on.

Has to be one of the most idiotic trades a team has ever made. Made no sense to trade for him. Moves like this and shite Griff pulls, I wonder how these guys get these jobs.

I think owners, GMs and fans get hung up on names.
At this point, Butler is basically this season's Beal - except he's even older and more injury prone.
Not sure how many times it needs to be proven that you shouldn't trade for anyone over 32 in the NBA.

I agree and they look at LeBron and think that will happen with whomever. LeBron is a freak of nature and not the norm.

Also equally as bad to sign the older guys supermax deals. Outside of a couple outliers like Steph, any team that gave out those deals had buyers remorse very quickly.
