There have been indications in the past that he wanted to play in a bigger market. How do you think that he would react if he were traded to the Nets?

they would have to move Ben Simmons to get Zion to the Nets. It’s not legal to have two players on the Rookie Max extensions and Simmons is already on it. So, a direct swap could only be for BI, as if Zion is involved they would need a 3rd team to take Simmons, whose trade value kind of sucks.

No, you're wrong. It's not legal to have two players on the designated player extension you traded for. We can trade Zion to the Nets, and they can keep Simmons, as long as Zion doesn't sign that extension with us.

Which is why I think that the Zion extension didn't get finalized yesterday, after Shams said that it was basically done.

Huh? You said it not legal to have 2 traded players on the Designated player extension, so how can we trade Zion to the Nets if they have Ben Simmons who was traded to the Nets?

Why would we leak that it's nearly done then? That makes no sense.

Where do you see that he wanted to play in the big market? Did you just miss his season ending interview or what Sham tweeted right after? His dad on the podcast? How he would sign the max if they offered it? Or how they didn’t sign it yet because they still talking about the clauses in the contract and it should be done soon. Just stop…you sound like an idiot right now saying he wants to play in the big market

The nets don't have enough picks to add to a trade KD for Zion.

Sorry. As I understand it, the rule is that, if you have already traded for a player who was under the designated player rule when you acquired him, then you cannot acquire a 2nd player who is also under that rule.

So, the minute that Zion signs an extension, we couldn't trade him to the Nets.

That's why the Nets can't trade with Miami and get Adebayo -- he's already on a designated player extension. As of this moment, Zion is not.
