Portland does not have a top 5, top 3 caliber player on their roster. Chris Paul was in that category in 2008. You don't compete for titles without that unless your mid 2000s Detroit.

comparing the pfs and C#s points and rebounds like it is any type of valid comparison

Aldridge is playing like the best big in the league right now. If Portland was to win the championship on Aldridges back no would not have him in their top 5.

He's playing against a center who is soft as cotton, of course he's dominating right now.

The Clippers have been top 5 on offense and defense all year, they are no slouch

1st in off and 14th in def.

They upgraded their coaching. Jordan and Griffin are much improved.

Outside of jordan's minutes and PER36 rebounds and slight up in bpg, he didn't improve much.

Griffin's ppg went up but so did his fga per game.

So not really that much improved. Coaching is 100% guarantee.

you're complaining that people do that? you're a little bitch to even come back with that LOL

quote:

How old are you? This is clearly not the case. There were 6 teams within 3 games of the top seed in the West.

Outside of SA, 2->5 ranked teams, only 5 games separate them

In '07-08 from 1->8 is 7 wins.

They would have had to go through:
51-31 dallas
56-26 san antonio
57-25 los angeles

or
potentially:
51-31 GS
59-23 OKC
62-20 SA

just to get to the finals, that path is already harder compared to '07-'08

quote:

Every playoff team had 50 wins.

yeah, okay. Every playoff team has 49 wins this year.

Cumulatively, 07-08's playoff teams were
434-222

This year's playoff teams are:
436-220

So yeah, this year's is better, even slightly since you always want to nitpick.

quote:

The Lakers that season were better than any team they have to face in the West this year.

If they were so great how come they were ranked 4th offensively and 19th defensively? Since you always want cold hard facts.

Because terrance Jones is even close to a top 5 PF to defend aldridge.

so your defensive anchor of a center did nothing to prevent a PF from hanging half a hundred and 18 boards on your team at home in the playoffs?

And you're defending his mental toughness?

they finished the season 1st and 7th defensively. They were top 5 most of the year. IDK where you get 14 from

No not outside of SA. They WERE 6 teams within 3 games of the top seed. That's less than 5 games and we aren't excluding any teams. What part of 1 game out of the 6 seed do you not understand?

They coasted the whole season, they were clearly the team to beat entering the playoffs. And no telling what #s you are going with since you didnt use the efficiency #s for the clippers this year.

Dude this is all nonsense. not even worth responding to. this is almost as bad as you comparing the 2 teams by posting the starting front courts ppg and rebound per game #s.

IF dwight covers him the whole game of course he doesn't sniff those #s.

Just because I think you're a fricking retard that needs #s

SA: 6th offense, 6th defense; 105.4ppg - 97.6ppg (+7.8)

OKC: 5th offense, 12th defense; 106.2ppg - 99.8ppg (+6.4)

GSW: 10th offense, 10th defense; 104.3ppg - 99.5ppg (+4.8)

compared to:

DAL: 12th offense, 6th defense; 100.4ppg - 95.9ppg (+4.5)

SAS: 28th offense, 3rd defense; 95.4ppg - 90.6ppg (+4.8)

LAL: 4th offense, 19th defense; 108.6ppg - 101.3ppg (+7.3)

yeah because hard numbers are too hard for you to understand right?

Okay lets eyeball test it.

Running through durant + co this year and the same old spurs is easier than a worse spurs team and a lakers team that 'coasted'

Just looked up the Lakers only/// they were 9th defensively. Honestly bro, save yourself the time and don't look up anymore #s bc they ain't worth the time it takes for you to type them out. You are looking at the wrong numbers.
