Remember too: Even among the six teams trying to reach the playoffs via a play-in, none believe this restart is worth risking injuries on players that could carry into next season. For some, Orlando will be an extended summer league to develop young players and protect veterans.

Interesting...

So it’s going to be treated as a joke. Why even bother playing at this point.

I would think the Pels are going to play everyone and try to get into that playoff spot. I think he overgeneralized this a bit.

I feel like that would be Washington, Phoenix and San Antonio

With no real advantage of seeding this year, I can see the top teams doing the same thing to avoid injuries.

I have come to the opinion that they should just call the season and start planning the offseason. There are too many risks and uncertainties for this Orlando experiment. Also, there is very little time between it ending and the beginning of the next season.

This. Woj said "some" and these are the teams he meant.

I can understand this attitude. The NBA "compromise" is weak tea, IMO.

fair enough.

and for some, just getting in shape, see who the 8th and 9th guys are.

and the playin 8 vs 9 game or games happen while the #1 rests.
